    Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol

Ok. I didn't realize the extra water would cause flavor issues. I'll have to try the leafonly with just PG to compare, or search for stronger alcohol. Thanks for the replies!

    Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol

Oh, and I didn't try to remove the water, just the alcohol. I wasn't sure if the water would cause problems, but figured getting it hot enough to get rid of the water might.

    Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol

I don't know exactly how much tobacco I used, but 50ml of alcohol covered it, plus some. I chopped it up fairly small before putting it in the jar, but have looked at some herb grinders to do a better job on that part. The first part of cooking off the alcohol was done in the crock pot at about...

    Tobacco extraction using heated Ethanol

Whew, finally finished reading everything. I tried an extract as I was reading, and have a question. I extracted aged burley, burley, and dark fired from leafonly using 151 proof Everclear (strongest sold here). I did a 12 hour heat with the temp around 160 (+/- 2) in a crock pot w a temp...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Ok, thanks. So maybe a little less on the heat, and let them sit cool a bit. Are there better ways of filtering?

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

I need some tips on extracting. Maybe there's a different thread, but this is the one I've been reading, so I thought I'd try here. I wanted to try a heat-assisted approach, mainly because its quicker. This was my process... 1. Put about half of an ounce of tobacco in Mason jars, then pour PG...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

This may have been covered elsewhere in the thread and I just missed it, but for the folks who do their own extracts, where do you buy the tobacco? I was wanting to find a fire cured Burley similar to the one at NET.com. The only places I've seen online are the Whole Leaf sites and Leaf Only...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

I want to add another positive post for Ether Vapes. I've tried the Classic Caramel ( both versions with caramel and butterscotch), Vanilla Skyes, Dark Skyes, and a few other ones. First off, all of them have been really good. I first went to his site because of the butterscotch tobacco flavor...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Every bottle of Rogue RY4 that I bought had little particles at the bottom. That was my favorite juice of any I've had, but the particles started to scare me and the coils gunked after half a Kayfun tank, so I started looking elsewhere for an ADV. I've gone to MOV FVF RY4 (which is really good...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

I'm in the same boat. I've been trying to like it, but there's a weirdness to it. "Wet dog" seems pretty accurate for my taste buds. I'm having a similar issue w Honey Cured from Ahlusion. Honestly, it tastes almost exactly like Gold Rising to me. I really liked Gold Rising initially, but then...

Sorry. That was meant as a reply to duroSIG556r. Guess I need to learn to use the quote button.

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

I finally got my NET.com order (from Jan 14) last Monday. Haven't had time to try them yet (wife had baby, baby had pneumonia, sitting at the hospital since). Hopefully I can try them tomorrow when I get home. I feel kind of bad about bugging them with emails, but I kept getting a weird message...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

Thanks for the replies. My question was about the tobacco flavor of the peach and honey aromatics, but it's good to know they'll hit the same. I seem to like a bit of throat punch, especially w lowering the nic levels. I forgot to mention that I also got a bottle of Fabulous and Burley from...

    Natural Tobaccos - Part Deux

I haven't posted in this thread, or the previous version, but I've been reading through and have tried a bunch of the NET's. I have a couple of quick questions, then I'll give the quick and dirty of what I've tried (or can remember). 1 - I just got some Dagwood... from River Bottom Fog Sauce...

Svoë Mesto Kayfun III ES Discussion/Questions

Anyone have any ideas on what would cause muted flavor? I'm not getting hot legs and i've tried multiple wick configurations. I had one that tasted great, but it flooded completely out after about 30 minutes. Every other time I'm getting muted flavor and it has trouble drawing liquid up. Liquid...
