    Orion V2 roll call

Thanks for the info on Pailpoe. Here's what I use for cable. Fits into my Orion with no modification other than cutting to length. 5 64" 2mm 7x19 Stainless Steel T316 Cable Wire Rope 25' | eBay

    Orion V2 roll call

Hey Guys, how are you contacting Pailpoe for replacement switches? I would love to get a couple of spare switches for my Orions. :)

Are you a retired Genisis user?

This is exactly why I have been vaping Gennis for so long. With 28ga kanthal a-1 wire at about 1.2 ohm and mesh wrapped 7x19 316SS cable wick I go months and months between changing coil/wick with dry burns whenever it gunks up. It's hard to beat and the flavor and the performance is stellar...

Are you a retired Genisis user?

Hey vapspaz, I've been using Genny's almost since raidy unveiled it. I've tried all sorts of things(silica, ceramic, cotton, microcoil, etc.), and I am happy with them for a little while, but inevitably end up going back to a Genisis device (more often than not modding the new piece into a...

    Wire Rope for Wick?

Maybe you're not getting it hot enough. I am torching mine with a MAP gas torch to almost white hot. I have not had to boil mine and I am not getting a metallic taste with a sub-ohm 28 ga coil. Battery life is pretty bad, but the vape and flavor are phenomenal and I don't mind keeping a...

    Wire Rope for Wick?

I just ran into this today as a matter of fact. To get your TH back, take the wire out and re-torch it white hot. Set it back up again once nothing else will burn off the rope. I noticed that after a couple of weeks, the rope will clog slightly with carbon and will slowly wick less and less...

    Wire Rope for Wick?

Ok, time to report back on the trial run of wire rope as wick on my Orion. I got some 7x19 316 SS rope, cut to length and torched it white hot. It's dark, but clean as a whistle. Wraped the top part 1x5 times around with #400 oxidized mesh. Filled up with crash juice, coiled it 3/4 with 28ga...

I couldn't have said it better myself. Great advice!

    Wire Rope for Wick?

Yup, months should not be a stretch. I haven't gotten my SS rope yet, but I use thin SS mesh wicks #325 about 15-20mm. Burn them clean once a day and I have many that are more than 6 months old and a few OCE a year old and still going strong. :)

    Wire Rope for Wick?

I'll report how it goes once I get the rope in. I ordered 7x19 and will try it with #300, #325 and #400 mesh to see what works best for my juice. I may also look into some 7x7 just for the sake of my own curiosity on which will be better for me. :) As far as shorting goes, I've never had much...

    Wire Rope for Wick?

I'm guessing its a thick vs thin juice thing. 7x19 would probably wick PG and possibly faster than 7x7 because of the tighter spaces between the strands but that's just a guess.

    Wire Rope for Wick?

Cool, thanks :) I wonder what the difference would between the 2 of them? I've got alot of reading to do!

    Wire Rope for Wick?

Just ordered dome 7x19 316L wire rope. Turns out I needed some stainless wire rope for other things anyway so it works out perfect ;)

    Orion V2 roll call

Wow, I've had my Orions for quite some time now and use them very regularly. I had the leaking into the switch issue, which I fixed by putting a bit of teflon tape on the threaded rod where the nut locks onto the nylon bushing. I cleaned the switch out so it worked again before re-assembly by...
