I guess there are some advantages to tootle puffing on the pinch with a 0.7 ohm single coil MM. <=Gee, did I say I was tootle puffing at 0.7 ohm?.....my how things change in such a short time=> I get about 4ml with my old AW1600's and a full 6ml bottle (could maybe even go a little longer) with my HE2's. I was surprised that I was changing the HE2 batteries at 3.4V and didn't have a smack me in the face change but rather a modestly stiffer hit with a fresh battery.

MM wire eats a lot of current. I love the vape off that stuff. Vaped it exclusively forever. However, I stopped using it when I went from "single" coil to dual (and from MTL to DLH), as the heat-up time was slower than I preferred. This was all because of that freakin' Nuppin'. I experimented with that atty and found that I liked a dual coil lung hit from it, so that's what it gets. The RM2 and Mundy's Magic ("single" coil) was a great combination.

I got the HB6, not the HG2. I was finding that I was pulling them at around 3.8V. This, however, I attribute to the fact that I was trying to heat 23g wire. (lot of wire mass, affects kick-time noticeably) So, I'm finding that I prefer the same build with 24g wire (the ~2mm ID, 5.75 wrap, duals), using the HE2 on a .21Ω build (VS .17Ω). It's a very similar vape, and/but I can run the 2500mAh down to under 3.6V, easy, and enjoy the vape all the way down.

Definitely, if one can achieve more or less the same vape with less wire mass, it'll provide more vape time. It all comes down to how fast the coils get up to phase-change temperature (for the perceived satisfaction and for actual energy spent "pre-heating" VS steam generating).

My bad, not the HG2 for Peter but the HB6. I have read really good things about the HG2 bearing in mind it is a true 20A continuous battery. The Q30 is right there with it at 10A but IIRC it is rated 15A continuous.

oh yeah, .7Ω is tootle-puff city. The only reason that's a sub-ohm coil is cause it happens to be under one ohm.

Weren't you supposed to be coming up with another twist on the Magic? Something that heats lightning fast @ ~ .25Ω dual coil?

Perhaps something with 7 strands in it?
He'll get to that as soon as he's done farting around with his new plates.

Illum has the VCT5 in stock, are they reliable?

some of us have found that the VTC5 are not preferable to the LG HE2 or Samsung 25R, in that the (20A) VTC5 sag a little in the belly of the curve (3.9→3.75V) in comparison to the HE2 (and the Samsungs for that matter). The HE2 and the Samsungs seems to give a more consistent vape throughout the cycle.

(grain of salt . . . opinion, anecdote)

The Sonys seem to hit a little harder out of the gate (4.2→4V); but that only serves to mislead on the build resistance that suits the whole discharge cycle.

Holy crap Peter 20mg/ml on a 0.2Ω coil !!! That's some serious kick. I've managed in the 5+ years of vaping to bring my nic from 24mg/ml (when I started) to 3mg/ml for the last year. I must say I don't miss nicotine one bit.

I know right? He's got a set! Anything over 6mg and I'm in trouble!

Personally I use VTC5's and am more than happy with their performance. I mainly vape the Turbocad raised single coil at about .45Ω in the Nuppin
I was using the VTC5's before I started bottom feeding then couldn't find them. I'm surprised to find them in stock again, did Sony start manufacturing again? My big concern is lag, I'm going nuts trying to find something to last even a little longer!

As far as I know Sony stopped making them but I believe they sold the rights to Xtar so they are being still made but with an Xtar jacket. I bought a big stash a while back and still have some stock but I have seen them sold.
RTD should have them in stock soon
