Hold one of my atties upside down? They all have drainpipes for driptips and more holes than my daddy's rubber! Noooo.

o-ring is the way to go. Since it's a leak free environment here anyway -

you could even just use a really thin backup ring to hold that pin and maybe not then need to counterbore the hole.

Simple and efficient as always Peter! :toast:

Your approach to simplifying things as much as possible while maximizing efficiency is one of the reasons I pitched a name similar to elegance (can't remember the exact wordage I used) for the Pinch

I unfortunately tend to over complicate when I have an idea.

Or just hold the top cap and accompanying bits upside down ( after removal) for the few seconds it takes to swap out the battery and there are no worries about dropping the pin...;) ( Learned me Sumpin' after dropping the pin a few times myself!)

there's no correlative "battery spring" in the Punch and Nutter. Different animal. Which is why it all came up for me. With the Pinch, I do that too, hold the cap sideways while swapping batts.

Peter, Wouldn't that o-ring at some point stick to the pin on the way up, and leaves its nice nest you carved there?

from fiddling around with it in my hands, having a feel for the frictions and slippin's, I doubt it. Bear in mind, the post isn't like a piston, working up and down to any great degree. It really just needs to seat downward to snuggle with the battery on the first button press. Maybe wiggle ↑↓ a little with switch operation.

Admittedly, if your juice went a wandering, and your inclination was to let your juice pool, build, and stickify on your mod's working parts . . . well, you could build a theory on that.
