Coptic Christans have had harrowing trials and tribulations in Egypt for 19 centu

Happy birthdays and vapiversaries gals and guys. While I missed the discussion on killing the terrorists and feeding the poor I was observing three incidents that took place in my country:

1- long queues for reserving fancy housing in a compound that is yet to be built (priced in millions of Egyptian pounds).

2- Fistfights between customers of a large Supermarket chain that announced a reduction in the price of rice leading to several people being injured (some severely injured)

3- Muslim residents of a village in southern Egypt attack a 70 year old Coptic woman, tear off her clothes and drag her naked in the village streets, after burning down the houses of 7 coptic families. The reason: a muslim man accused his wife of having an affair with his Coptic business partner. Turns out it is a disagreement over a divorce settlement that led the muslim man to accuse his wife of adultery with his partner and setting the whole village on fire.

This country will be so much better off once it gets beyond an obsession over what is (or isn't) in everyone's pants. And based on the Tamer report - the entire planet for that matter. Sigh...

If we don't blow ourselves up first, it will eventually happen. And then some other insanity will take hold. But we're still a relatively young species.

What worries me is that there is enough demand among peoples of different countries around the world for lunatics to lead or at least be strong contenders for leadership. This is far more dangerous than this or that politician or dictator being elected for office. There is something rotten in Denmark as Hamlet said, not just in the palace.

Stop fretting over the bathroom thing. Yes, we're all quite upset, but that's why we have a federal government--to deal with this important stuff and, uh... relieve us of such concerns.
