There are annual competitions for the best 'chippy' or fish and chip shop. Some people like their mushy peas with vinegar. Before curry overtook it in popularity, fish and chips was the national dish of England.
Ahhh that's mushy pees, a staple with fish and chipswhat the SamHill was that green crap ?
Go figure, you can't find fish and chips in Greece if your life depended on itF & C was a grand tradition here, following the wars, we got lots of greeks
greeks opened fish and chip shops [that also served souvlaki] and they did it well
modern greek australiand want to go to uni and be managers, pilots, all manner of things that should be unconstitutional for the rightful owners of fish and chip shops
Dim Sum is from Taiwan, what's that got to do with fish & chips and…..Greeks????![]()
There's a new series of my favourite programme - Australian Masterchef and since Oz is so close to those Asian places, there's a lot of that 'fusion' cooking going on.
HRH knows all that stuff and if you Google the most highly rated and popular dish in the world, something i call 'Smurfie rice' or nasi goreng is up there.
Which also has nothing to do with Greeks.

No it's "fly lie"translates to "fried rice" right? and "mi goreng" is "fried noodles"
post vietnam and korea we have more of that
our food really depends on who the yanks are currently blowing up
So i suppose the only way to get fish and chips is for the US to declare war on England.
Strange days indeed.
