I have absolutely no reservations about leaving my phone behind. I don't use it often for anything but phone calls and I long for the tiny Nokia phones of the 90's.

Dare I admit it publicly? I put my phone on silent mode when I go to bed.

My first phone was a Nokia 3520. People were shocked, shocked that it could do voice dialing long before that feature finally got introduced on an iPhone. Only quit using because the ringer transducer finally gave out.

Every other phone I owned were varying degrees of "sucks" and "sucks less" for many years.

I beg to differ. I'm fairly confident that my phone alone (with an SD card installed) is lighter than your phone plus your iPod. Now if you're willing to leave your phone behind, then you might have a point, but who's actually willing to do that these days?

I am on the phone all day at work, the last thing I want to do is talk when I get home.
