There are actually way more bayous in SE Texas than in Louisiana and yes, Buffalo Bayou is the reason for this as well as the Brazos River.

Just arrived in Sydney, Australia about 6 hours ago and they had floods here too. Worst in decades from what I hear
it started in queensland, travelled the whole east coast, then tasmania

Thank you. I'm not too worried about it. I have a pretty pragmatic outlook. I'm more worried for our elderly neighbors.

Good news is; my daughter in law is a 911 dispatcher and one of the HR gals has a vacant house we can stay in and take all the animals! The whole shift of officers is coming today to help us get everything moved up and some out.

Just did a run from Leesville, LA to Center, TX last week.I'm already talking to some of you on facebook but here's what I woke up to this morning..........there are a lot of homes in our neighborhood already flooded, including neighbors on both sides of us and behind us.
The rain broke like a wall of water.
Within about 3 minutes, it seemed, there were small rivers crossing the roads.
This rainy season has been relentless for you guys down there.
Hope everything works out for you.
Been there a couple times, myself.
Also used to work as a fire and water restoration tech.
These times can be daunting on the nerves and emotions.
Hang in there.
