Chaos at Dallas Airport as Cop Shoots Man Armed With Rock
A man armed with a rock. So, err, what was he going to do with this rock - transport us back to the Dallas stone age, throw it at someone, see if he can find some folks with paper and scissors?
There are 2 things that need to happen: we really ought not to assume that a man with a rock is a danger that needs to be shot.
2300 BC 'Hey Ugh, there's a guy here throwing stones'
'Well shoot him then, catapult at full power Dirty Harry style.'
'in fear of my life i discharged my weapon at a man armed only with a fishpond ornament'
They train them well these days.

Says "it's not clear how many times he's been shot". Yet he is "in a stable condition". Must have been one hell of a rock. [emoji53]

Well said Bri, however if big industry was making money from those deaths no one would be in a hurry to find the cause. Sound familiar????![]()
Mornin' guys...one dimension of this problem is the ripple effect it has internationally. Governments are quick to adopt similar and even harsher measures than those adopted by the FDA. BT operate on a global scale and as such will quickly promote these measures globally with even harsher tones in the case of developing countries with more corrupt and less accountable governments. One still remembers the case of Philip Morris vs. Ecuador (I think it was Ecuador) that attempted to stand up against BTs. In the case of Egypt the link between our corrupt dictatorship and BT is more clear. The Egyptian Intelligence (yes!!) is a major shareholder in the government owned cigarettes production company which owns all cigarettes production lines and leases them out to BT and can then tax the consumers to their heart's content. When a group of vapers asked senior health officials we were told flat out that e-cigarettes are a threat to "sovereign revenues". Please note that Egypt has one of the highest (if not the highest) prevalence of smoking in the world.

From Wikipedia:
Smoking in Egypt is prevalent with 19 billion cigarettes smoked annually in the country, making it the largest market in the Arab world.[1] Inside cafes, hookah (shisha) smoking is common. As of 2012 smoking in Egypt has reached an all-time high with an estimated twenty percent, ten million people, regularly using tobacco products.[2]
Egypt is ranked as one of the top ten per capita consumers of tobacco by the World Lung Foundation. Of this twenty percent of the population estimated to use tobacco products, ninety-five percent were daily smokers. Sixteen percent smoke only cigarettes, 3.3% smoke shisha water-pipes, and 2.6% use smokeless tobacco products. While consumption of tobacco in adults is in decline or stagnant in many countries, in Egypt, the number of adult cigarette smokers is increasing at a rate of four to five percent per year[3]
