Mornin' Tamer :)

Maybe the cop was just a really bad shot

As bad as this is, the real tragedy is the plane crash today which took 1300 lives

Oops, my bad... it wasn't a plane crash. That's the estimated number of people who will die TODAY due to smoking related illness :(

Yes, I know the figures are likely inflated due to the way that "smoking related" is defined, but if the number is half of that or even just say 1/10th, that's 130 needless deaths that the FDA chooses to make themselves complicit in by trying to deny ecigarettes their place in THR.

If there was a plane crash every day which killed 130 people, how much would be spent on identifying and eliminating the cause?

I have no idea why that just spilled out here and now :|

Rant over, or is it :?:
Very well said!! Rant on my friend....rant on

One thing that's still a mystery in the universe is cricket. Never understood how the hell they score in this game, granted never had the interest to learn but it sure as hell is confusing. They play for days and the score is like 256 for 1 o_O

over the fence on the full is 6 [runs] with no actual running required. Hit the fence after touching the ground is 4 [runs] with no actual running. If it doesn't hit the fence they just run between the stumps, no bases like baseball, just one length is 1 run

baseball is alien to me, so is hockey, so is golf

gridiron is at least based off the same roots as rugby league, so it is much the same rules

UK like ecigs, USA don't, Aus government is having an existential crisis
We're tired of being the first ones to asplode everything. It's time for you Aussies to take the initiative and start asploding things we haven't thought of yet.

My point exactly Doff, who the hell came up with this scoring and what was he drinking at the time? I bet Billy Connolly could make a hell of an act describing how scoring goes in cricket

don't worry, after years of trying. I still don't understand what "triple double" means

i was recently told it involves rebounds, isn't that a bad thing if you miss and it rebounds?

LOL!!! I understand your predicament. This one of the few times the UK follows a different path than that of the US.

This doesn't make it comprehendible but thanks for the effort [emoji52]

I am a football (soccer) guy and I find it difficult to understand baseball, cricket, Rugby, American football. Handball, basketball, volleyball are fine though. You can easily tell when someone scores.

Soccer has just started booming here in the last 5 or 10 years. So, so long between goals.

Nil all draw? Wtf

I like aussie football. Similar to gaelic football, none of this padding and helmets the sissy american code uses

Triple double? Easy. "Double means" double digits--10 or more of something. "Triple double" means the player had three double digit statistics in a game. Those statistics are usually points, rebounds and assists. For example, a player with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists has a triple double. Blocked shots and steals can also be components of a triple double. So a player with 10 blocked shots, 11 steals and 14 points has also achieved a triple double.
ETA: Uh, when you rebound the ball it means that somebody missed a shot and you grabbed the ball. An "offensive rebound" is when.... nevermind. Enough for one day.

My old play ground triple doubles used to go like this...

10 fouls
10 rebounds
10 assists

:D

Though, sometimes it would take a couple more fouls and an injury or two.

What can I say? I'm 5'9"... ETA; and a quarter... but I gave that up just for classy ;)
