I will not be selling vape gear to WA State residents. This will be a strict policy for me; albeit mostly moot, as not a single person on my list of mods requested is a resident of WA State. So, it kind of wouldn't be happening anyway. I simply wish to make it formal and clear that I will no longer sell vape gear to Washingtonians (the State, mind you, not the philosophy . .. . not as popular as Jeffersonian Deism . . . . still, a philosophy embracing the wearing of wooden teeth, chopping down cherry trees but not lying about it, and standing on the prow of a wee boat in some frigid-cold weather . .. and good, I guess, in that it is what it is).

Anyway . . . where was I? . . . Oh yeah:

WA state passed legislation earlier this year regarding our beloved, life-saving, harm reduction. It is actually rather logical and reasonable, and I sincerely hope it is effective in keeping kids away from vaping (and, I assume, sticking with the swisher sweets they are accustomed to? . . . IDK). The Bill, SB-6328, becomes effective, takes effect, "goes live", on June 28, 2016. And my policy of not selling to WA residents goes live now, in deference and adherence to the letter and spirit of said legislation.

so . .. . boom . . . c'est la vie.

Just read that legislation and it appears so. By the definitions section it appears the licensing applies to intrastate and out of state to in state sales. Fees etc. aside, I certainly wouldn't like the "let them inspect anytime" policy.

As I suggested, the whole thing seems quite reasonable and logical* (i.e. it is primarily directed at protecting kids and keeping some kind of an eye on safety w/ retail e-liquids). It's just, given that I'm weensy, and don't fit in with any of the standard business models that legislators legislate for; I think it's most ethical and easiest for me to comply by just not selling to anyone in the State.

*surprisingly. And the reason seems to be that (and Slots was helping me follow along with all this over the past year): a handful of reasonable people in the WA Senate just got fed up with some of the ridiculous garbage that Inslee was proposing on this topic, and the fact that nothing was happening because half the Legislature couldn't stomach his outrageous proposals . .. . so they just wrote something up that actually made sense, passed it, and threw it on his desk.

i have no disagreement with protecting kids and so on, but i can't help but think it's bad law if it means that businessmen like yourself end up not being able to sell their products in their local markets. Bizarre.

So, i expect more laws like that!
