I've wondered the same thing. I do have some nic in plastic, primarily for first use and the rest are NN V1 Armor for longer term storage so I didn't need to decant it. I do know that if I put something in the freezer in a plastic container, I have had flavor bleed from other things which says to me that those pesky little molecules do get around.

It's not a question of the plastic "leaching" - but even the best plastic is permeable. Over time stuff can get in - stuff can get out.

Now go open that plastic 2 liter bottle of soda that's been sitting in your basement for the last year. See what you get.

It will go flat in about six months - unopened.

OK, i think i get it.

so, if one were to store nic in plastic in a deep freeze for, say, 10 years. then, after 10 years, one should defrost the freezer and vape that too? . . . . . . . bonus?

I do think that the soda going flat has something to do with carbonation wanting to take up more room than the bottle that it's pressure-fit into, no? I mean, there's a difference between osmosis at sub-freezing temp, and gas under pressure at room temp?

Well, no one has done that yet but I wouldn't be volunteering to be the crash test dummy on this one to find out what will happen. The known long term freezer storage has all been done in glass, and to date in glass bottles it's surviving in the 6 to 9 year range quite nicely with minimal degradation.

It's just there are known properties of plastics and gas permeability is one of them. So if I was going to put something in a freezer, especially a frost-free with forced air going on inside there, I wouldn't put it in plastic and expect it to come out as the same thing I put in there even a year later.

For the cost of a few glass bottles... is this even worth considering?

sure. I mean, yes. I mean no. not worth considering.

but if one has only, say, a 10 year supply, and one lives another 30 years, then wouldn't a person want it to degrade and then just switch to plain VG when it's all used up? Kin'a weening while the weening is good?

If I have a tub of vanilla ice cream in the deep freeze, and an orange juice concentrate . . .. will I get orange ice cream?

. . . I mean, if I wait for it.

Dunno, but if you've got some pollock in there...

Sounds like a good plan, until I thought about it. The most likely scenario I can come up with is that about a week to 10 days into vaping plain VG/no nic, my wife suffocates me in my sleep

I guess I'm set either way

I guess the lesson to be learned here is "put the dayum juice in whatever makes you happy:)". As for the scientific explanation of the properties of plastic and glass and what effects they may have over a 10+ year period in deep freeze on your favorite juice is a question for Steven Hawkins. Personally I don't keep that kinda stock, I've planned ahead by about 2 years worth of supplies and have faith that they can't ban VG, worse comes to worse I'll vape plain VG which will always be available. The only item I have about 4 years worth of stock in my freezer is Strawberries & Cream flavoring in big bottles directly from TFA (I had that before the FDA regs)

Not sayin' that what some of you are doing by stocking 10 years worth of juice is wrong, just not for me. I have to say however that I believe that voicing your discontent to the FDA regs to your public officials is in my mind more beneficial than stocking up. The only way we will beat this is by supporting the lawsuits against the Federal Government (I believe there are 6 going on). The latest one being the e-smoker coalition against the Federal Government. (or the "Right to be smoke-free" coalition)

i have 2.5 litres of 100mg nicotine, 2.3 litres of 36mg WTA and i have no freezer space

the WTA is a worry, i can't get that from china if the USA FDA shut it down in 'murika

i did stock up, when om vapors had a 70% off coupon. They changed their international policies a week after my order, I don't think they appreciated all profits going to free shipping

Let's assume we do manage to beat it. What will happen then? I practically guarantee you they will tax it in an attempt to make up for the revenue they're no longer getting from tobacco. I suppose that's not a big deal if you're OK vaping flavored VG, but it is for those of us who aren't willing to give up our nic.

I started stocking up on just about everything, of the most reliable devises, attys etc almost 2 years ago. At the same time I was learning about DIY & stocking up on everything needed for that as well. I was also at the same time doing all the writing and petitions and calls to actions, and then I got a little bit depressed, when the laws were passed here in Indiana. These laws went into effect on 7-1-16. There was one lawsuit here that already failed last week, but there are a few more taking place that might have a chance. I stocked up a bit more over the last month, fearing a block of internet availability. Stockpiling has been kind of a priority for me lately, so now I guess I need to get back to fighting all this, since I now have enough to keep me going for a long time. I of course want more, attys and devises, but if everything got shut down tomorrow, I would be okay.
