OK, so the atties arrived today and they are really just perfect. I'm super happy with them. :D

(hats off to the chef!)

I'm going to post up that Ref. Thread business, and then start contacting some folks about payment and shipment. I've got some mod'n'atty folks (batch10 mods) who I need to take care of first, and so I probably won't put too much of a dent in the list tonight. But the rest of this week is devoted to getting these atties to their homes; so I'na be all over it.

So we shouldn't clean our black top caps in the UC. Any preferred way to clean them?

I use hot water and a little bit of dish soap for the initial clean and just hot water after that.

OK, so, inquired on this. My recollection was that the UC was a bit risky because it depends on the "bathwater"; so, probably safe, but not smart to start playing "chemistry set" in there. Hence, best to "blanket advise" against (I had thought).

Here's the reply I got:
Type 2 anodized coating is a very hard and durable coating. Its designed to add weather resistance to aluminum that stays outdoors. Its harder than the aluminum its coating. Dawn dish soap and water is the best method, but that coating can take cleaning and polishing with most of the different non-flammable type cleaning stuff as well as some of the harsher flammable type cleaners. Isopropyl wont effect the coating and using a UC wont hurt it either unless you using really harsh chemicals in the UC bath.

I'll add that I clean all my new atty stuff w/ Isopropyl and when I'm machining w/ lube, I agitate in Isopropyl or Denatured Alcohol and then follow with a quick soap and hot water rinse.

Just came home with a new family member. This is Pixie our new little Golden Retriever chick to keep company to our old boy Hank. Wife's been bugging me to find a Golden girl for a while now so when this litter came up I couldn't miss the opportunity.
Little Pixie is 50 days old
