We have sidewinders in the dunes. No season and they're not shy.
We have 9 of the top 10 deadliest snakes (only 4 in my area though) and the ad campaigns say don't stress. You've got far longer to get to hospital than you think. And you might not even need antivenom.

Juvenile snakes are scary. The big ones tend to let out a controlled dose, in case your big brother is waiting around the corner. The baby ones go hell for leather and are more likely to kill. Or do some brain damage.

AND shy snakes aside, you have a plethora of nasty critters that can maim and kill or just make you wish you were dead. I'll take the sidewinders, copperheads and a couple of nasty spiders over that any day. I've had always wanted to move to Australia and the hubby and I even discussed it years ago then Steve Erwin came along and educated us and never mind! I'm a chicken.
Did you see in the news that the tides a few weeks ago brought in a bunch of blue bottle jellyfish? 900 people stung in one month.

You are in the south. I've seen video of tarantula migration. Won't kill you. But can inflict pain. They even flick tiny Dart like hairs from a distance.

Spiders are mostly north

Luckily not on the coast, which is where I am and farther inland they have a ton of scorpions too towards San Antonio. If we have any here it's very rare. I can guarantee if I came face to face with one of your spiders I would soil myself. A cockroach can almost make me do that so just imagine.

And, hubby was standing at the sink the other night and he apparently had his headset hanging around his neck. The ones where the ear buds are on a short string. It had flipped over his shoulder and I walked up on him from behind..........saw the bud that registered bug in my brain and let out a scream that brought the whole house running. Poor guy almost had a heart attack as I was right behind him and he didn't hear me coming.

Just avoid Sydney, and far north Queensland.

And maybe Adelaide.

None of our critters really have maternal or paternal instincts, either. Most wouldn't recognise their own offspring.

From what I gather, your big growly buggers get rather grumpy, if you cross paths with their kidlets

I pretty much hate Comcast, but it isn’t their product that’s bad...

Google fiber, with gig speed, had Jacksonville as one of their next cities to wire about 18 months ago. Comcast/Xfinity threw a fit and somehow got the city to put the brakes on. I think it was the straw that broke the camels back for Google and their expansion plans.

BTW, I’m paying for what is supposed to be 150 down so this isn’t great, but better than it was the last couple of weeks.

I’ve been on the phone with them too much lately, which feeds the hate :grr:
