Lol. Those were some great memories! Parked on the floor way too close to the TV ("you'll hurt your eyes!"). Big bowl of cereal and hours of cartoons on all channels. I guess today all the networks have kid specific channels to hawk their toys and junk food on all day all week. Somehow it was more special when you had to wait for Saturday morning

My mom used to call all sugary cereal 'weekend cereal'. During the week it was Cheerios or Grape Nuts.

Sweet wasn't required just so long there was some kind of toy inside.

We grew up with chickens, so any cereal was a treat. I didn't eat eggs for years after I left home. I can seriously replace the Forrest Gump shrimp scene with eggs.
