I have a kayfun clone. How many wraps will it take for me to achieve an 0.6 ohm coil? I have 30 and 28 gauge wire

Now that would depend on what you are wrapping it on.

Kayfuns don't like subohm much. I'm often at 0.6 on drippers, but found vw at 8.5w to give best results flavor wise on kayfuns.

As above kfl's dont really like sub ohms. The lowest I would go would be 0.8. On a 20g syringe needle it is about 5 wraps or 6 back off one gives about 0.8-0.85 ohms. Just remember too much cotton equals flooding. Make sure to use your liquod as a glue to get the cotton down the side of the base and barely touching the bottom base. now I have to disagree on the sub ohm kayfun thing. now im not recommending it but I have 4 kayfuns which I run 2 below 1 ohm and they work phenomenal. I have one on my dna-20 mod in dual coil mode at a total resistance of .8Ω which produces the best flavor out of any kayfun I own. the other is a single coil also at .8Ω which also is awesome. the other 2 are set up for my vv mods which are in the 1.3 to 1.4 range. now all in all they are very close and the sub ohm doesn't make that much difference tbh, its not like there is a major difference, the only reason I do the sub ohm is because I have a couple of mechs, and because I vape between 15 to 20 watts the kayfuns on the mechs needs to be in that resistance range. the only difference I can really tell between the sub ohm and the 1.4 ohm is a slight increase in flavor and the vapor is ever so slightly thicker

I currently run my kfl+ at .55 ohms, works great excellent flavor and a lot of vapor. I use 25ga wrapped around a 1.5mm Allen key, 8 wraps. Maybe try 5-6 wraps with your 28ga with a similar coil diameter.

Find my Russian vapes fantastic driven at 30 watts. Believe the build is around 1 ohm, but using the futura for me power plant. So by my way of thinking is that as long as she wicks good enough, sub ohm is not a prob. Don't know what the top end of the Kayfun style atomizer is, but 30 watts is not it. will see once Max arrives.

Far as getting the target ohms, tis best to find out for your self as you learn to build, and yeah an ohm meter is required equipment. With mods like the DNA30 out, I don't focus oh target ohm rang anymore, look more at designing the optimum build for the specific atomizer. Then just crank it to the max.
