I'm not really asking for my benefit, but I can't find a thread addressing it and I'd like to know what sort of amperage we're actually talking about when it comes to one of these things. I'm fairly certain it's more than you should be pulling from a little battery like the KGO, but I don't have the equation.

The reason it came up was a comment made by the guy who uploaded this video:

The dual coil eats up more power and guzzles juice. The flavor and vapor production is way better and I think its worth it. A single coil would not have enough heat to power our tank at 3.7 v.

The biggest problem (to me) is that it's a misrepresentation. You most certainly can put a single coil carto in that tank and it'll work just fine. It really turned me off to his company, when I was considering buying the tank, because he's willing to mislead somebody who is admittedly new to all of this, who likely knows nothing at all of how a battery and atomizer interact.

So what do you guys think? 1.25ohm DC on an eGo / clone? How much amperage are we talking about here, and does anybody know what those batteries are rated for?

Thanks guys.

Ohm's Law Calculator Just enter volts and resistance and hit "calculate". 1.25ohms @ 3.7 is 2.96amps and 10.952watts. Keep in mind that each coil would be 2.5ohm, so each coil would be getting 1.48amps and 5.476 watts. With dual coils the power usage will double. I've used 1.25ohm dcc's on an ego without any problems but it is not recomended - battery life will be reduced and there is a chance of ruining the battery, which is why I would only use it on a spare or backup battery that you could live without in case something gets fried.

Good Afternoon :)

I use a 1.25 DC carto on my KgO.. I love it.
The flavor is awesome.

Im personally not really concerned about it guzzling juice. The flavor and operation on a 3.7v Ego type device is terrific in my opinion.

Here is a cool video by P Busardo that shares his experience.

Enjoy brother.

Peace and God Bless.

Now that I understand the numbers (and that amps for 1.5 will be the same DC or not using Ohm's Law Calculators), the 1.5 will be 2.46 amp draw on the KGO, and everything I've heard says 1.5ohms should be fine for that battery.

Personally I think 2.9A is pushing it for these smaller batts and I wouldn't be using it, but if you're willing to accept a shorter battery life (not charge duration), more power to you. I guzzle juice on an SR SC carto at 5v, so I still don't think I'll be using the DC cartos...but I do have a VV option, which I know not everybody has. I've just noticed that the vape (for me) on an LR on my KGO is best with a SC at 1.7 or 2ohms. The 1.5ohm DCs had great vapor volume, but just didn't provide the heat I was looking for.

And to repeat my stance, I think 1.25 is too low for smaller batteries...I'll be suggesting that people stick with 1.5 and higher. Thanks for helping out there guys.
