Hi Sandy,
I think it is all just a preference. My favorite for my flavors is vaping Boge LR 2.0 on a 5v mod. It is not recommended by the manufactors to vape that resistance at 5v, but its what i like. I tried the 3.0's and it did not do much for me. Also remember that if you are using the dual coils, you have to double the resistance. 1.5 dual coils are more like 3.0.

Found some for you madjack. Just a side note, The Boge XLs are about 5mm shorter than the SmokTech XLs.

5 pc BOGE XL Cartomizers in Stainless Steel Has a pic with size comparison
Boge 510 XL Cartomizer 3.0 Ohm (Black or Stainless) - 5 Pack
Boge 510 XL Cartomizer 2.0 Ohm (Black or Stainless) - 5 Pack

...thanks for the info...dang, they be pricey...I may stick with the regular sized ones at 2.30/bx cheaper from CCV...I guess, I need to get a million folks to start buying them to drive the prices down...and then they would always be outta stock...it's always somethin'...darnit...lolol.......................

...actually, not correct...ELECTRICALLY, the batt see it as a 1.5ohm carto...the amp/wattage is simply split between the two coils...............

Yeah they are. They are too short to properly fit the SmokTek DC Tanks as well. I bet a lot of people saw the XL and assumed they were the same length as the Smokteks. Kind of odd that they would not make them the same length as the SmokTeks. They are missing out on some good business.

So does that mean there is actually only .75 ohms each coil on a 1.5 ohm dc?

nope, you take each coil and add it to the other and then divide by the total number of coils(1.5+1.5=3/2=1.5)...the batt sees the two coils as one 1.5ohm coil...that is theory anyway...hopefully, I have the #s correct...if you use Ohm's Law Calculator , you will get 16.67watts which is enough to instantly(or pretty close) boil/burn your juice...however, that wattage is split between the two coils giving 8.34watts per coil which fall into the sweet spot most folks like(7-10watts)..........

p.s. JimBob, you asked, whose Black and Mild juice I liked and it is from crystalclearvaping.com ...it is an 85%VG juice which, I believe is mixed by the owner of CCV...vaped in a 1.5ohm dcc, it almost seems like you are drinking or eating it...I use both it and their RY4...good stuff.........mj

p.s.s. if I have the numbers wrong, I apologize, but I know the basic theory is sound and well, I have never stayed in a HolidayInn so?????????????.....mj

So

Do you figure it (for battery drain etc.) as 3ohm or 1.5? I understood (or thought I did) that the device "thinks" it is 3 ohm

...the batt will see it as 1.5ohms...I don't find their RY4 to be sweet(to my taste) it does have a good strong vanilla/caramel taste to it...the B&M has a similar taste with a bit of rum/maple to it and is a bit more intense...I can't remember if or when I last tried a real B&M or what it tasted like BUT, I like the juice.............
