So, I resorted back to an iclear 16 due to my nautilus tank completely sucking and having not recieved my new tanks from fasttech. I dropped my itaste mvp the other day with the iclear 16 tank on top. Initially was reading 1.9 and after the drop it skyrocketed to 4.1. The device seems to be functioning properly, I just had to lower the volts a bit. It just bummed me out because I currently have no other tanks to put on top. I have been throwing my Halo into the mix to conserve a bit on my last remaining tank.

How could the drop make the ohms go up so drastically?

Going down that same path: Have you given the tank itself a good going over? Did you check for anything now out of place, loose coil that needs to be tightened? Stuff like that.

Depending on how it landed it may have caused a problem with the 510 connector on the MVP, pushing the center post in just enough to cause poor connections. (Just because it can still fire something doesn't mean it's making a great connection.) That can be corrected.

If it's not the tank itself, or pulling the center post on the 510 connector doesn't fit it, the unfixable possibility is the drop damaged the board/electronics inside the MVP and the ohm checker function is now shot.

If you take it off then put it back on does it still read 4.1?

Yes, it does. Always 4.1

Nothing seems to be out of place and im hesitant to take it apart being that it is my last working tank.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
On many occasions when i screw down a topper the MVP reads it much higher but loosening the topper a hair and then firing usually corrects the issue.

Try firing it just for a split second and then stop , many times the reading will be exactly where it should be even if it reads much higher before you hit the fire button.

Thanks for the input. Got it down to 4.0 for a second, lol. Hopefully its just the tank. Ill know better when I get my new tanks in.
