1 huge POP sound on my rebuilt Kanger head

So Ive finally managed to recoil and rewick my Kanger head for aerotank.

It all taste wonderfully except, everytime I press the firing button, theres always 1 very loud pop sound.

I know coil do that, and its "normal". But I dont think this is, the loud pop usually spurt out the liquid into the driptip.

Doesnt do that with the factory coil, only my rebuilt coil have the tendency to do that.

Im using 34 gauge kenthal, wrapped 6 -7 times over a small allen key (dont know the size), using cotton ball and a silica wick resting ontop of it. Tried removing the silica wick and it still pop.

Any idea?

do a dryburn and yu should see the hotspot where 1 wrap turns bright red before anything else turns red.


that coil will also not last very long, because of the hotspot

Sometimes you can take a needle and adjust the wraps so they are more evenly spaced and that fixes it. Sometime it is just easier to recoil the thing.

You might also try a larger/wider flavour wick. I encountered the same problem once on one of my kanger coils which I had recoiled with a microcoil. Turns out that I had grabbed the wrong sized ekowool and used it as flavour wick. Changing it out to a larger flavour wick solved the problem for me.

This was happening to me too... My fix was to roll my cotton tighter.

Thanks guys, solved it by recoiling the wire tighter, which gave it a more balanced and consistent heat.
