Hello , I am totally new to all this but have been using the forum as a reference libary for a while. Here is my problem....

So have been vaping for a month now and LOVE it - I have gone through two starter ones brought from Clearmist, then I brought a ego 1100 batt, and mini pro tank, using grizwald liquids…… all great BUT i have to change the aero tank so often, like every other day as the draw on the vaper gets so weak and you don't really get a hit - is this normal?

Is there a e cig I could buy that will just work? I really am worried it will cost me a fortune not to smoke!

Any ideas very gratefully recieved!

That's really odd to hear about the aero tank, in my experience they last weeks, have you changed coils in them at all? Also are you using a variable voltage or just a straight battery? If your a month in and are absolutely loving it you may want to look into getting away from the starter kits and start customizing your vape experience

Natty, welcome!

The "coil" is the "head" - the physical heating element and fluid wick. A lot depends on the type of liquid and how much you're vaping. Darker/sweeter juices can "gunk" up the coil so that the vapor production decreases and makes it harder to draw (and can even burn). The 1.5Ω heads should be fine, although on that type of battery (and most of my others) I tend to like about 1.8Ω. However, it's personal preference, for sure.

I think the aerotank coils are typically dual coils (two individual coils working together) whereas the mini protank typically uses a single coil. I've never tried the aerotank coils in my mini ProTank (I tend to use mostly single coils for all my toppers.) Again, personal preference.

You might simply need to clean (dry-burn) your coils. Google dryburn *insert your specific coil type here* to find instructions on how this can be accomplished. Typically with store-bought coils, they are wicked with silica, which you can "dryburn" to clear out old flavors and to remove some of the build-up from the physical wire. When I first started, I would take my coil and just drop into a little bit of vodka (unflavored) overnight. And I rotated through a number of coils, especially when I was changing flavors.

I now rebuild my own coils (it's fairly easy to do, and lots of instructions available when/if you want to try it) and wick with cotton (which you CANNOT dryburn)

To change the coil, you would take the bottom off the mini ProTank (like you're getting ready to fill it) and note the chimney that's sticking up from the base. You can unscrew that - that's your coil or head. Just screw in a new coil, refill your tank, take a couple of "primer puffs" - don't fire the battery, but pull like you're trying to vape - and you should be good to go.

Hope that helps :)

P.S. I use a coil for a couple of days, and then at least soak it or clean it. About once a week, I'll rewick after I dryburn. It's very possible that you're getting "gunky" in a day or two's time

Welcome to the wonderful world of vaping. Don't worry, we all seem to go through the phase of collecting zombie box fillers during our search for what we like best. The reality is that you will never know if you like one of the many devices available if you have never tried it.
But, don't worry, there really is a bottom to this rat hole. Over time you will learn, and you will find ways to vape that you really like. It seems expensive at first, but in the end it's quite cheap. In fact I haven't spent one red cent on vaping in quite some time now.

My suggestion is to brake your search down into categories. Take batteries, APVs as one category, toppers as a second category, and liquids as a third.
