Just wanted to say this community is awesome. So much great info here.

My Story:
Made the mistake of buying a Blu kit, biggest POS ever.
Than I found e-cigarette-forum.com and was pointed in the right directions. I bought myself a Joye 510 from cignot.com. Also picked up a VP2 Passthru from dietsmokes.com and some juice from diyflavorshack.com. All these sites came highly recommended from users here, and for good reason. All provided great prices, friendly service and fast(cheap) shipping. Cignot and DIYFlavorshack also through in a bunch of free stuff like trial flavors, bottles, droppers, measuring cup and spoons.

All in all I love my 510, I'm diggin the DIY juice mixin and it's all really been a great experience(except for the Blu BS). thank you to the community and the good people at Cignot, Dietsmokes and DIYFlavorshack.

Welcome, Element E! Being a chemist, I like that name. ;) I too got roped into spending big money initially on a green smoke, which now sits the vast majority of time unused while I enjoy my 510. I was not so lucky to find this forum before that initial purchase though, so kudo to you for being patient enough to do some research. If there were more like you these crappy companies that prey on desperate smokers would stay in business...I think 90% of their profits are from duping people and one-time purchases.

DIY is the way to go, IMHO. Cheaper and you can make flavors exactly how you want them...with the exception of vanilla, which is a quest unto itself. And it keeps you from buying 30 mL of something that you end up not really liking.

The 510 also lends itself to lots of different cart enhancements (mods). 100s of threads on the many ways of improving on the stock cart very easily. There are other better PVs out there, but for a starter, and the money, the 510 is excellent.

Have fun with the new toys and DIY juices!!

Im also about 1 month into vaping, havent touched an analog since the day I touched the digital. Great stuff. I went with a 510 right away though, but my buddy who started same time bought into the whole Blu hype and was disappointed until he bought a 510 per my recommendation!

The e-cigarette is addiction refined down to its two primal elements; the chemical and the behavioral, the latter being the far harder of the two to break. I think I could easily wean down to no nicotine at all but I dont know if I could ever stop vaping, for that behavioral element is far too satisfying. Its gotta be working along the same lines as OCD habits.

I wasted just £10 ($16?) so i've had a lucky escape!

I have to agree, the community here are real nice, although sometimes i do question if the e-cigarette is an alternative to smoking, or a stepping stone to quitting.

Welcome to ECF :)

My deal is even when I had 'quit' smoking, I still knew in the back of my mind that I would pick up a cigarette someday in the future. Usually because of stress or nervousness. With vaping I can revisit "an old friend" without all the guilt (the smell, the mess, the price). And after 3 weeks of vaping I feel so much better, morning wheezing is gone, sense of smell is returning and that dry smokers cough is subsiding. I'd hope to quit one day for good, but for when I relapse and for now, vaping is exactly what I needed

Another good word for Cignot :) They are fast and affordable. I've converted about 10 people now from analogs and got all their first kits from cignot and not a bad part in the batch. Another nod to DIYFLAVORSHACK as well. They make the best FLAVORED liquid in my opinion.

This forum has been a godsend to so many people, most are really nice people who want to help. A user who didn't know me at all sent me detailed instructions on getting a chuck and making it work like I wanted it to. She spent a good deal of her personal time helping a stranger.

Recently ordered from heavengifts as well and their shipping was fast and their prices can't be beat! The products are all well made.

I bought a Blu first as well and I try and consider that an into into the e-cig world, like a membership fee, instead of getting ripped off and ignored like I was by that company.

The folks at Rockymountainvapor are really great as well and resolved any problems I has quickly and fairly. Another great site!

Good Luck with vaping and welcome :)

I've been vaping for 45 days now and it is fantastic. I have bought juice from Cignot: they are wicked fast in delivery, equipment from Heaven Gifts: great prices, and I just got my Chuck 2 days ago. Jeff, you are THE MAN! This thing is awsome!

I have vaped with smokers over the past 1 1/2 months and many asked me about it, but this is something that you have to decide that you want to do. I have never tried to talk anyone into it. I tell them that it is awesome and that it works for me. I also tell them about the ECF and offer help if they need it.

The biggest benifit, other than health of course, is that I can vape in the house. No more standing in a freezing garage during Chicago winters. WHooohooo!

@smokingisbad yup I did get a pcc with my kit. it sure is handy, just wonder why they don't make them to fit a fully assembled pv.

@Chriss and yea it's a conversation starter for sure. people have lots of questions and I'm always happy to talk to people about it.

funny you mention not having to stand outside... that's the original reason I started looking into vaping. being in Wisconsin I got the same crappy winters to deal with and I also had been banished outside to smoke. so its been a win, win all around
