I am so happy to say it's been 10 days with no analogs, but the problem remains that I miss them in a way. Granted my allergies are significantly better, its the ritual of having them. I have even tried changing the habits that make me miss them like vaping in the house because I can now do that. I feel disappointed, I am so happy for my hubby who has dropped the analogs and is loving vaping, I am not sure why I can't seem to move past that and love vaping, I am even experimenting with flavors, such as a new one I ordered in salted caramel. Anyone else have this problem?

Sure we did, and some still do Brunhileld. But... you keep going and eventually, that desire will pass, or at least be reduced to something easier to deal with.

I don't know what you're vaping with, but... good equipment that can bring out the hidden qualities of a juice, good juices that you really like (that in itself can be a real search) and the right nicotine and PG/VG balance... these elements can make all the difference in your cig cravings.

Don't be afraid to spend the money on quality, consistent, reliable equipment and good juice... it's worth it in the long run.

Keep moving forward...

much of the addiction is psychological. i think we all went through that to some degree. one thing i find is that people who use a "cig-a-like" (PV that looks like or is at least about the same size as an analog) have a better chance of kicking the habit. commercial analog cigs are loaded with chemicals that potentate the effects of nicotine (make it stronger and reach the brain faster). you don't have any of these chemicals in e-cigs so there is a bit of a hump to get over. but once your out of the woods life is good.

If you really want a cigarette have one. You'll realize they suck soon enough and just keep vaping.

It took me 6 months of smoking a pack a day and vaping to quit the cigs. I still take a drag off a friends' every once in awhile just to remind how nasty smoking is. I will say it's a whole different ballgame now compared to only having cig style 510s with attys (and archaic 3.7v mods) when I started. Blue foam and tea bags. The memories. I never liked teabagging.

Just because you got a PV it doesn't mean you have to quit smoking that day.

In my case, you're wrong. I didn't quit smoking until I bought a mod (the Chuck). The ones that looked like a cigarette were too familiar and really made me want to smoke more since I wasn't getting the satisfaction out of them.

Hi and welcome to ECF. I bought a Blu on a whim. It did nothing for me. I bought a spinner and quit smoking using that. I found that 18mg nicotine was not cutting my cravings so I upped it to 24mg. Once I went to 24mg it took care of the physical cravings. The head games are still something everyone goes through. Finding a juice you can vape for a long time and enjoy was very important to me. I was lucky and found one early on. It satisfied me. Now I am looking to find a few more that I can add to my daily rotation. I am now using an MVP2 and love it. Variable voltage batteries were key to my getting a good flavor out of my juices.

If you are having a hard time with smoking and vaping here is a thread where everyone is in the same place as you. Come check it out. It may help you to see not everyone just stops smoking and is happy forever just vaping away.

Quitting smoking is not easy and everyone goes through the process in their own way. You are doing great. Don't compare your experience with your husband's or anyone else's experience. It is an individual thing.

out of the 6 people i know that have really tried kicking analogs and switching to vaping 3 of them were successful and they used cig-a-like style stuff at first. the other 3 people got ego style stuff they used it off and on for a while before they just gave up. all the people that gave up told me that they didn't enjoy holding the big cigar like battery up and pushing a button with there thumb. it just felt weird to them. when you do something for habitually for years you build "muscle memory". your brain associates the motions of smoking an analog with getting a buzz or fix. its not something that is unlearned easily.

I have similar feelings but every time I reach for the mod instead of the nasty my feeling is I'm moving forward in the correct direction. I just look at it as a win for me and my family. I did it for my own health but more for my family who wanted me to quit. Now that I vape I love it the taste the relaxation it gives me and my wife and kids even accept it as a great substitute for those nastys which they hate.

Just keep trying and if you fall down just pick up the mod and keep going everyone is different and it may take a little longer for the feeling to go away or be less and less. So if I can give any advice just keep vaping. Best of luck we are all wishing for your success.

Each day is different for me, sometimes I walk past a smoker and hate the smell, others I walk past and love it.

Sometimes the temptations get really high for me, but someone told me to wait 20 minutes and it will go away, which to be fair it does!

My issues come when I have a heavy night out drinking!

First off.... congrats to both you and your hubby for getting off of the analogs. I, personally haven't had that problem. Vaping is the only reason I was able to quit smoking. I use a few different flavors and always try to keep a few tanks full with different flavors in them. How much nicotine are you vaping? Maybe it's not strong enough for you to kill the cravings for cigarettes? Anyway.... don't give up!! Keep trying different things until you find your comfort zone.... it's within reach!!

Don't be discouraged if your significant other took to it instantly and you didn't. After I was 'converted' (but not on the road to Damascus!) I bought my wife a spinner and some 18mg menthol juice. She still smokes analogs at work (I can smell it on her, and it's noticeable that I can detect it now where I couldn't before) but it's only the spinner at home that she uses. I love her regardless of what she does!
I know that personally I have had a pulmonary test at my doctor and my lung function has improved. And I bought a new car and even after vaping to and from work (1 hour + each way) it doesn't smell of cigarettes inside.
Just by observation at the smoking table at work I can see that the smokers who now vape has increased 6-fold in as many months.
Just stick with it - you'll be thanking yourself eventually.

I fully agree

First of all: BIG Congratulations on 10 days without a tobacco cigarette! That is a great achievement!

Please take a look at what ShariR said - that is very good advice indeed.

And if you still smoke a tobacco cigarette once in a while - do not chastise yourself. Every cigarette that you have NOT smoked is a very good thing for your health. It is very nice that your husband made the transition to vaping without any problems. So did I. And that was not - repeat not - a great personal achievement on my part, but simply a marker that the time was right. For me. At that time.

Welcome to vaping and to ECF! Get yourself some really nice tasty liquids and vape away. :)
