does anybody do this? looking to try this with a vivi nova, should i boil the cotton balls or no? how would you twist it into a wick? any advice?

People say boil them, I'm lazy, so I don't. With cotton ball, you just wanna keep rolling between your hands, so it forms a somewhat wick looking thing. (I use cotton yarn 
easier imo, but cotton ball in theory should work. I've used it in a Phoenix clone). See if itll hold its shape, if the ends will fray. If it looks fine, wrap your coil, install, and vape away.
Thing to remember about cotton is to keep them saturated for the test fire. Don't dry burn, horrible burning taste after.

exactly this. my preferred wick is actually a rolled cotton ball wrapped with ss mesh
