After a few different attempts at using cotton balls, I've found the near perfect (for my taste) way to cotton wick my Protank coils!
1) Of course, boil the cotton ball
2) Air dry
3) Tight twist small strands of cotton till about 4" long by about 1/32"
4) Take the long tight strand, and double over, LOOSELY twist, and double over again.
5) Repeat step 4 until you have about 2 mm in diameter
6) Remove the old wick from the coil if the coil is still firing well and is clean.
7) Pinch the end of the cotton and twist between your fingers, then feed through the coil.
8) Flavor wicks x's 2 in the same manner as the wick, loose, and doubled over ONCE.
9) Trim the ends, then fluff the cut ends.
10) Presoak the wick and re-attach the tip.
At 2.0 ohms and 7 watts, the cotton is firing beautifully and providing an incredibly smooth and tasty Hazelnut Coffee on the current juice tank. So far, every other proceedure has been ehhhh, so so. I guess the twisted rope method was the key. The only drawback so far is that I'm getting a little bit of popping, but its doing very well otherwise.
