Hi

This is my story I started vaping 12 weeks ago and instantly quit smoking, I grabbed myself a cheap starter kit and loved the effect and was really proud I stopped smoking the horrible smelly things.. 3 weeks in I decided to grab myself some better equipment and got a MVP, Kangertech iPow2 and a Nautilus Mini was really impressed and started upping the watts to get better vapour production. This is when the issues started, I started getting itchy everywhere and hives breaking out so I started looking on this site and many others and come to the conclusion I was having a PG reaction and was highlighted by the better equipment and intaking more E Juice.. I then read some other peoples posts and thought ok give 100% VG a go which I did I instantly went online and ordered some Virgin Vapour and some Vape Green organic juice thinking this will solve my issues.. It did solve the itchiness and the hives went away 2 weeks I was enjoying the great flavours from the Virgin vapour line and was happy vaping again :). Then boom just as I started to settle in again and forgetting the bad experience of wanting to rip my own skin off due to the PG reaction I started getting really greasy skin and breaking out in acne all over my face when ive never suffered from it in my past. Im a 38 year old man I get the odd spot here and there like every human but never in my life acne.. Does anyone have any suggestions for me at this point as im close to throwing all the vaping equipment away and going back to the smelly bad things.. Surely it cant be quit zits 10 weeks down the line? im eating the same diet I have done most of my life and im not stressed either other than the stress of vaping issues? any help right now would be very much appreciated??

Also how to I upload a picture to my profile on this site I cant seem to find a option

At this point it may be the flavoring. I too get a redness in my face, especially around my nose. But I figure its mostly due to PG. But even with as little as 2% nic with PG I still have a slight reaction. Try drinking more water. Change your flavor company out. Try different flavors. Try and vape straight VG and see if that’s the problem.

Actually, it could be that. It sometimes can take a bit of time to come out. Or it could be any one of the other things Waddle mentioned. You just have to be patient and change things one at a time. You could also buy some VG nicotine base, some VG alone and mix the two to give you VG and nic juice.

The good thing is acne won't kill you, so you have time to figure things out :)

You'll find that in 'Settings' at the top right side of this page. Look for the 'Edit Avatar' link at the left side. You might have to wait until you have 5 posts before the system will let you do that.

Thanks for your response I do have some straight vg with just nicotine I ordered when I was getting hives! Have you ever tried vaping that stuff it's nasty but for the test of science I will go back to it ... I suppose I should refrase my question has anyone on here ever suffered acne issues using 100% vg??

You may be having symptoms of what happens when quitting cigarettes. This is probably the best list you will ever find: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hen-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

2. The Quit Zits
A less common symptom of tobacco withdrawal is skin eruption, in the form of spots through to severe acne even in those who never experienced it when young. The 'quit zits' have no relation to ecigarette use.

The bad news is that in some cases these eruptions last for months, for some who successfully stop smoking cigarettes (whether or not e-cigarettes are used). There has been some experimentation to see if various e-liquid ingredients may exacerbate the condition (such as PG or flavorings), as some e-cig users have questioned this, but without any solid results.

Thanks.. its good to know I'm not the only one I suppose after the PG reaction I'm scared of it a bit now I'm looking out for problems constantly. I know acne won't kill me but my job is quite social and acne does not do a lot for the self confidence.. I'm off to the doctors today I'm hoping he might give me something to clear it up. But thanks I will take all advice on board and I will drink gallons of water lol I want this to clear up ASAP.. I'm washing my face with straight water 10 times a day at the moment I very conscious of the oily skin :(

I'm washing my tank vigerasly VG is thick stuff and yes I'm washing my hands after filling.. like I said I'm washing my face with straight water 10 times a day at the moment because of how oily my skin is becoming

The good news is everything settles down. Water does help flush the system :)

Other folks have mentioned that this may be an adjustment your body goes through - but also, some of it may be nicotine. You mentioned using higher watts, but you're on 18mg liquid. Many people quit cigs with 18, but with Ego type gear, then move to much lower nicotine when they get into sub-ohm and/or higher power devices.
You may want to try lower nic and see if it's still enough to prevent cravings - you can do it in steps:
Buy some 12 and try it - or mix the 12 and 18 and you'd have 15 and can step down slowly.
18 mg at high power might be a lot more nic - this would explain itching and maybe the sweats - a little bit of a nic overdose.
Then again, it could also be withdrawal from cigs other chemicals - either way, I hope you figure it out and stick with it!

Ok that would make sense ill try lowering the nic level

I am only a few weeks in and getting the pimples and oily skin too. :( Drinking many liters of water as well.

I am going to ride it out for a while and see if it is just a reaction to quitting the cigarettes.

Try not to over wash, it will only strip the oils from your skin making you produce even more oil and it becomes a vicious cycle. Best to wash as you normally do and try to ride it out.

Good luck!
