I went through many of the same symptoms including acne. I really believe that it is the body going into overdrive taking the opportunity to rehabilitate it self from the toxins. 140 days going on strong and went down from 16mg to 0.2mg nic.
BTW: all my symptoms went away in time.

My tri-glicerides and cholesterol went down as well, but that could be due to intentional weight loss (32lbs) during the same time frame.

That's good to know I'm not the only one going through the same symptoms I'm gonna bare with it some more like I said I have some cream from the doctors now and will drop the nic level I've been in taking.. hopefully this is it because vaping is awesome I can't stand the smell of cigaretes now abut clearly I still addicted to nic but patches are just a waste of time and money

you to ecf. You can already see what a wonderful place it is. Good luck to you. Let us know how it goes and what works for you because it could help others that has had this symptom occur.

Thank you I feel very welcome and the advice I'm getting is good and it's nice to feel I'm not alone

I wanted to piggy back on Robino's comment with advice I didn't see in that thread (and can't post there yet since I'm new). If you find the acne hard to control with drugstore and kitchen remedies, your doctor or dermatologist can help. There are a lot of new treatments available, some of which work very quickly. And despite your age, adult acne does exist so insurance covers it when the doctor uses the proper diagnosis code. Don't let acne get in the way of the amazing thing you've done by quitting smoking!

One other thing -- I'd also recommend getting formally tested for a PG allergy to confirm your suspicion. PG's in all kinds of things, albeit at lower quantities, so it's good to have any allergies documented in your medical records.

I'm not saying that everyone is wrong when I say this so please no one be offended. But I highly doubt it's anything E-liquid related! The same thing happened to me. I was smoking from the age of 13 and starting vaping at 23. After 4 months of vaping I got serious Acne, so went to my doctors and explained everything. And he said it's most likely the toxins coming out of my system from quitting tobacco. 6 months into vaping the Acne cleared! :) now I know everyone's different but this is my personal experience.

No - you're correct - but the OP did have two different things going on.

Intense itching and hives are definitely symptoms of allergic reaction, and allergic reaction to PG is pretty common if you ask an allergist. That one gets a "me too!" here and my entire career vaping high PG liquids lasted all of my first four days of vaping, ending with an allergic reaction so bad I almost ended up in emergency care.

But when you switch to vaping you have to understand that quitting smoking is one thing, the impact that smoking had/had on your body doesn't go away overnight.

On the brain chemistry end of things those cravings you get - even with vaping - aren't just about nicotine. You brain is going through all sorts of withdrawal from all the chemical crap burning processed tobacco releases - including trace amounts of MAOI's. (antidepressants) So even going through a good couple months of fits of insomnia or several months of a mild depression are not uncommon when you quit smoking.

On the body side it is known there is a correlation between smoking and suppression of the endocrine system, although the mechanism isn't fully understood. When you quit smoking you take that suppression off and all sorts of things can pop up - including quit zits. Again, it can take several months for your body to readjust to this change, but you know in the long run the benefit is going to be worth it.

Lastly, you can appreciate how this can frustrate the hell out of some of us, because some people seem to breeze through their quit smoking experience with little to no withdrawal problems, while for others it's a real bear and the adjustment is a lot harder. Still, this is the only time I ever got through quit smoking withdrawal and have stayed quit - all thanks to vaping.

The skin issues will settle down Rhodesy, it's just gonna take some patience.

I 100% had a PG reaction my itching and hives was so bad I wanted to rip my skin off I switched to 100% VG 3 days later was clear of that so the evidence is pretty clear on that one.. as for the skin reaction I'm having now the cream I got from the doctors is already helping me it burns when I apply it but I've been vaping all day today and my skin is still dry on my face at least.. I've taken the advice about water on board and am drinking loads of it I've also ordered lower nic levels today because I probably was doing to much hence the night sweats.. I'm going to ride it through but as I said since having a allergic reaction to PG so early on I'm very couscous about it all now and maybe over thinking it all to much.. But the PG reaction was so bad insane itchiness any tiny itch now and I'm like nooooooo not again
