In my ventures to find that perfect juice for me, I have gone through many samples. Most have been very high in PG or 100% PG. Overall I have been dissatisfied. I have found that PG tends to be really harsh, and the TH is not like the TH from an analog, but more along the lines of my throat being irritated to a point where I can uncomfortably feel it.
However I have tried a few 100% VG juices, and have come to the solid conclusion that VG (at least for me) is infinitely superior to PG in nearly every way. Sure it doesn't irritate your throat (ie strong TH) like PG does, but to me VG is much more similar to analog smoke than PG. Its vapor seems to be thicker, and the cloud of vape you can produce even on a SR atty is nothing short of amazing. It is significantly smoother and much more pleasing to vape. I can still feel it in my throat so its not like I am inhaling air.
But the most amazing part of VG just hit me a few minuets ago. I am currently using Boge LR cartos, and with my 100% PG juices, while quicker to absorb into the material, never seemed to last long at all. I would have to constantly top off my cartos to avoid potentially burning the filler material, as if I went too far past 10-15 drops, I would get those dry hits where I couldn't hear the liquid being vaporized (no sizzling and popping). I could go maybe 20-30 minuets of chain vaping before having to top-off, which is significantly better than carts, but still a small annoyance.
However I have noticed that VG in my cartos lasts a heck of a lot longer between top-offs. A few times tonight I have chain vaped for several hours without needing to top-off, and best of all the carto seems to always sizzle and pop (letting you know its still vaporizing the juice). Whereas with PG in my cartos, it would sizzle and pop for a little while, but it didn't last long and I always wondered if I was burning the material and not the juice. VG on the other hand seems to sizzle and pop consistently, which is strange as I was expecting just the exact opposite since it is so stinking thick (I figured it would have a problem wicking due to its viscosity).
After vaping for almost an entire night on a single top-off (and was still getting the sizzle and pops BTW), I decided to top-off my carto. To my surprise it took several more drops than what my tops off with PG were. With my PG I would need to do 10-15 drops as a top off every 20-30 minuets. With my recent fill with VG I put in just about 25 drops which lasted me at least 3-4 hours of near chain vaping, which tells me that the VG for whatever reason is being delivered to the atty much more efficiently and consistently than PG. I probably could have sucked down most of the juice in the carto without worry of burning the filler material, which is pretty great!
I am definitely sold on VG. And for those carious I am simply doing the Taryn spin method to fill up my carto, takes a bit longer than with PG because the initial fills don't soak in as much, but it is well worth the extended vaping time and consistent sizzling and pops as I vape. No dry hits yet!
Anyway, just wanted to share as I am very pleased, which doesn't seem to happen very often for me with vaping thus far.
