So I got my 1st ecig last month on ebay (an Ego w/ CE4 clearo), and immediately loved the thing. I noticed that it only ever took ~90mins to charge even if fully drained, which I thought was nice, but the more I used it, I noticed it wouldn't quite last a whole day. So I went ahead and ordered a couple extra 650mah Egos.

Right off the bat I knew something was different, because the 650mah batteries would take 120-150mins to charge if fully drained. I was letting my brother use one of the 650's, so they were getting regular use, and I realized that they actually lasted LONGER than my 1100mah. They would regularly last 2-3 days w/ multiple carto refills, which made me realize something was up w/ the 1100.

I messaged the guy on ebay about the 1100, and told him it still works after a month of regular use, but that it had always died quicker than my 650. He was trying to say at 1st that 90mins charge was normal, and that it probably had something to do w/ my outlet, but I explained how I'd tried it on a wall plug, laptop, and even cable box USB port. From what I've read, the 1100's should take closer to 3hrs to charge, and I even left it on charge for 3+ hrs even after the light was green, w/ no better capacity.

For those w/ 1100's, what is the typical charge time like if fully drained? From everything I can gather, I feel like this battery must have a substantially lower capacity than 1100mah, which I told the guy. He's gonna send me out a replacement so I can't complain really, since I've only spent barely $30 on the 3 batteries, but still. Once I saw how much more compact a 650 battery was, I definitely want my 1100 battery to last longer if it's a full inch longer! -Billy

That's what I'm thinking too, and I never would have realized if I didn't get the 650's. Out of the 3 batteries, they all have different charging characteristics. The 1100 battery will stay solid red for the 1st 50% or so of charging, and then start flashing every 5 secs, w/ the flash going from yellow to green. 1 of the 650's will do something similar, where the red light will gradually turn yellowish, and more and more green towards the end of the charge. And the 2nd 650 (different color), doesn't seem to have either of these indicators. It will just stay the same color red thru the whole charge. It doesn't matter which charger they're on either, the battery will do it's own thing. But there's no doubt both the 650's outperform the 1100.

How many ma's is your charger rated at? If it's 450ma then divide the 1100 by 450 to give you approximately how long it should take to recharge the empty 1100mah battery in hours (in the above example, it would be 2.44 hours). I used 450ma because that's what my charger is rated at. For the wall brick, it should be written on the brick itself.

Yea I wouldn't wanna leave these unattended. They all turn green when full, but I'm not 1 to try and force anything. After reading up on Li-ion batteries, I try and take them off the charger a bit before they're 100% full, and just rotate between them during the day. For my next purchase I definitely wanna upgrade to something better. I'm not really looking for more vapor production, but definitely something w/ better capacity and longevity. What are you recommend or use for a battery?

All 3 chargers I have are 420ma. I figured that had some type of correlation to the mah rating of the battery, and it proves that the 1100 battery must have less than half that capacity.

i bet all the cheap Twists from eBay have overrated capacity. I'm waiting on 2 of them...i WILL do a timed charge/discharge test and calculate the actual mah capacity. Never buy anything from Chinese sellers on eBay because if it comes to a claim, paypal will ask you to return the product to China WITH tracking.. which is cost prohibitive.

I would second the MVP2 and use your current batteries while the MVP2 is charging. I hear people getting 2 to 3 days of full vaping out of those things. If your looking for the same form factor then the twists or spinners would be you next step of progression.

Or buy a Provari and be done with it.... Sorry, couldn't resist!!! The MVP2 should last you at least a full year as a full time vape device

For the ones that are 1100 and above, I would guess you're right. But w/ the 650's I got for $9, I have nothing bad to say. We'll see how long they last though lol.

I call bull - you bought a crap battery at a low ball price. It happens. Someone here pulled apart their alleged 1100 mAh eGo battery bought from FastTech because a charge was lasting two hours or less. Inside, all that was in there was the same 280 mAh battery they stuff in XL cigalikes. You get what you pay for - or maybe not.

Does that calculation (and mah ratings on batteries) include however much charge is kept to maintain the 2+ volt reservoir (prevents reverse polarization)?

I've always wondered and will eventually get around to looking it up. I do gather we aren't supposed to 'fully drain' the batteries, but that a circuit of some type cuts them off when it drops from 2 to 3ish volts.

It's a gamble on ebay w/ the cheap stuff, but I was looking for a deal, not knowing what to expect w/ my 1st ecig. When I saw how the smaller, cheaper 650's lasted longer though, I was just happier in general. As long as I can vape without having my only battery die on me!
