Store batteries fully charged?

Hello, I just got my first mod and am wondering how to store the batteries...fully charged or somewhere in between charged and drained? I have IMR batteries. Thanks for the help

Lithium-ion must be stored in a charged state, ideally 40 percent. This assures that the battery will not drop below 2.50V/cell with self-discharge and fall asleep.

They say around 3.8 volts is best for storing batteries.

Good question, that I have always wondered about. Im sure some battery experts will see this and shed some light.

They come charged from the factory anywhere from 40-80% ideally. They do this because batteries will self discharge over time and if they get too low it can damage the battery cell. I recommend a full charge before use.

Like what UltimateOreo says, full charge. I wouldn't use it right out the shop since draining the battery to 0 is a bad idea, it just shortens the life of the battery, specially the new ones.

bought 4 diff. batteries 18650 size, they all came new at 3.7 volts...

Roughly halfway is fine; I don't think it's an exact science. I'd err on the high side if storage time is going to be long (i.e. more than a year)
