Had an ATX 250W kicking around (pretty much useless as a PC power supply these days), an OKR 6 T and a meter...I found a Nokia car charger (nice and big, like their phones) in our old cell phone drawer and spent $3 on a cigarette lighter socket and bingo...The ATX sits by my computer and when it's time to go turn off the switch, unplug the PT and plug it into the car...

That is one old school PSU, the newer ones (anything made in the last 5 years or so) won't even stay powered unless they receive a signal from the mobo. Very nice little mod though.

It's an ATX, here's the pin-out. You don't need a mobo to turn it on, just put a switch between the "Power On" and any ground and you're good to go...View attachment 66698

The mobo won't send too many signals if the PSU isn't running
