bclewis, if the PT works for you then great. I can understand your frustration about a power supply. If money isn't an issue, please look at the ProVari, Darwin (I've never owned one but people like these), and the Buzz. Voltage makes a world of difference on vapor, throat hit, and flavor production. If money is an issue, look at an inexpensive 3.7V or 5V box mod. Just because they are inexpensive doesn't mean a damn thing. I have owned many mods, not all of them, but a bunch and one thing I will say is to try one. Madvapes.com has a small variable voltage box mod for $35 plus shipping. Takes 2 14500 batteries and worth every penny spent. I bought one just to have a variable volt mod to take outside without having to worry about loosing/breaking one of my higher priced PV's. The little box hits just like my big mods. The batteries last me about 5 hours but I vape constantly...6-7mls a day so get an extra set of batteries for it if you choose to go this route.

Let me recap to make it simple:

Once u use a power cig which has the USB input...wether you plug into a wall outlet, a computer, or a car cigarette jack...there is no "battery" that will deliver the vapor that mimics real cigarette smoke and can delivery the nicotine enough to satisfy they craving for tobacco...so...dont waste money on all the battery and battery charging bells and whisles...just get one good battery and keep it charged up for short term occasional use as a last resort when u are in a place where u can't plug in your power cig...I know it sucks being tied to the power cig and the wire...but you can waste a lot of money on all the battery and battery charging stuff and you will never be satisfied...the battery is like having a beer and the power cig is like a shot of tequilla...no comparison. Happy vaping!!!

Well, you are right to a point but also quite wrong. You obviously have little to no experience with better PV's. You are right in that using a PT IF AND ONLY IF, you are using it with a 5 volt/2amp USB to AC adapter will give you excellent vaping results. But there are plenty of better battery devices that do just as well AND allow you the freedom to go where ever you want. One is the variable volt Darwin with regulated, boost circuit technology. 3.4v-7.4v power for 21+ hours and no decrease in performance due to the circuitry over the life of the charge.

Without breaking the bank with a Darwin, 5v option is available with a Maxi-Roughstack and
a 5v battery or for even less a Puck. 5v to go... and VV option - pulse the button with your
finger, less time depressed = less voltage. A high priced VV mod does this with electronics,
your finger will work also, (geek alert, it's producing a square wave output to the atty/carto)

Get the riva 510 SE kit from liberty-flights.com for $35 its a 750mah battery.... I tried the little 510 kits and had crappy results and worse battery life... the Riva will last me 8+ hours on one battery...and I was a 2 PAD smoker previous so its not like I am a light vaper.... been using this Riva for a little under a week and it rocks... I happen to like 100% VG juice for the vapor production and I get a great TH. and the menthols dont give me indigestion either

5. Dont try to kick the smokes without commiting to plug in for a real cigarette imitation...have not found anything on the market that is the same with a battery....the 5volt battery just cant deliver enough punch to produce vapor equivalent to a real analog cigarette..so skip all the kits and personal chargers and battery varieties...for now..its like the early cell phones...if u want to talk..u need a good solid rock hard power supply and none of the batteries can deliver...either they run out to fast or they arent strong enough or they get overloaded to fast and just shut down on u...u will be disappointed...for sure...am sure the technology will improve
I consistently produce at least twice as much vapor with my 3.7 volt battery as I ever produced smoke from a cigarette.
I just had a cigarette not too long ago and couldn't believe how little smoke there was.

Congrats on your smokeless life - ya did it:) Good for you! You're lucky to be in AZ. Check on their group here on ECF and they have a FB page Phoenix Vapors. AH-mazing group of people that will help by phone, meet you - whatever. You have much help nearby. I'm certain you need to ditch the skinny cigarette look-alike. No matter what kind you get there's not enough power. That class of ecig is for a noob for a couple of weeks max in most cases. I understand you want to get it all 'figured out'. This industry is young and changing every day. What you love today may change tomorrow. Enjoy the ride. Vape happy :)

There is no other way to say it... that statement is just flat out wrong.

Here are some preliminary results from a study that is currently underway...
"Electronic cigarettes CAN deliver nicotine": Smoking Cessation Community - Support Group

In the poster last week they reported preliminary results from the first 3 subjects in a new study of regular e-cigarette users. Each of these e-cigarette users used their own modified e-cigarettes and at least two of them obtained significant increases in blood nicotine concentrations, reaching more than 10 ng/ml from 10 puffs over 5-minutes, and one reached over 30 ng/ml with continued use. These levels are comparable to the venous blood nicotine levels that can be absorbed by a cigarette, and I believe this is the first time this has ever been reported.

These people were using batteries, not passthroughs.
