The evod kits came late yesterday afternoon and I had mine fired up and ready to go around 5:30. Haven't had an analog since! This included a trip to our friends house where we routinely take smoke breaks out in their garage and the 4 of us smoke and bs...I was fine with vaping only. Kind of can't believe it.

Hubby is not doing quite as well but I think that may be a juice/strength issue and we're going to a B&M store today to try some other juices and maybe stronger battery, possible vv?

Just wanted to share and thank you all for this wonderful forum and advice & support!

I'm sure it's easy too soon to say I won't have another stinkie but I think it's a helluva start!

Glad they came and congrats! I remember the first few days of vaping - it was a very triumphant feeling to be out and about in a situation with smokers or where I regularly had smoked and sticking with the vaping. Getting through the first few days is definitely the hardest and it sounds like you are well on your way and hubby is right behind you :)

What strength nic did he try? He may be one of those types that does well rotating in some 24 or 36. It may also be a man thing (sorry guys no offense intended to any of you :) ) My fiance was 2 weeks behind me in giving up those last few ciggies. In all honesty - its not a man thing, just an individual journey. Its great that he is open to checking out the B&M and more supplies. Finding a durable battery and the right tank was the clincher for my other half and I hope its as simple for you and your hubby :D

Happy vaping and enjoy shopping today!

I ordered him a 24 to start but he didn't love the flavor and so was using mine which is an 18. Both are a 60/40 blend. Both of us know it may take some experimenting and fine tuning and even when we find the "sweet spot", it may change as we go on, but we really do want to be stinkie-free.

I hope you find something super tasty for him at the B&M. A tasting bar is a HUGE help. There were flavors I would have NEVER ordered without having tasted them first. The idea of vaping bakery or fruit flavors sounded so ridiculous in theory, but it turns out Im rather fond of them in actuality. Its pretty bizarre to try and visualize "smoking" pina coladas LOL.

Happy hunting at the B&M and heres to hoping they have the "magic" flavor for him!!!

Hi and welcome!

I'm 9 days in to vaping and I know what you mean. I used it (vaping) once and I haven't had an analog since. It seems too easy and I was a smoker for 29 years =)

I didn't know anything when I ordered my first supply and I got 36mg nicotine because I figured more is better and I do think that may have helped stop so abruptly. Maybe he could try that? I'd say try to get a pre-steeped bottle so it's great right off the bat too. Good luck to you both!

Hello :) The fact that both of you want to be off the cigarettes is good. Not just for all the typical reasons. It makes it easier to keep working at finding gear and e liquids that work for you. Strong flavors can help. Mints are one of my favorite and give you a vapor that feels of more substance. Cinnamon flavors too, but those are plastic tank crackers. Congrats and your 14 hours :) You're doing good!

TeePee,Welcome to vape world it's been pretty easy for me to switch. After smoking 2.5 to 3 packs a day for 34 years I had my doubts. I walked out of my B&M and haven't had a stinky since. It's been 3.5 months. I had a fist full of 24 mg juice. Water Melon freeze was my favorite and that's what I quit on. It tasted so good I went back and bought 2 50 ml bottles. After a couple of weeks I got my taste and smell senses back it was amazing. They changed so much I couldn't stand the juices I'd bought even the Water Melon. So the hunt for my ADV was on again. Now I had a bunch of juice / money that was going to waste. I guess what I'm trying to say is try not to buy a lot of one juice at first in case the same things happens you two. There are several juice vendors that offer sample boxes. I wish I'd know this when I started. HAPPY VAPING!!!

Congrats!!! Cool isn't it? I smoked for MANY years and dropped them one day and that was it. A vv might be the way to go. If he's looking for a stronger throat hit or flav change that might work as well. What worked for me was getting a juice a close as possible to Newports...my former analogs.

Definitely will not buy too large of quantity even if we love it right now, but I am hoping the B&M shops, especially the nearesr one, has good selections and decent prices so I can get juice asap if needed and not be dependent on mail only. I will be ordering more small amounts or sample packs online as well.

He is definitely a strong throat hit guy. His cigs are full flavor Kools. I do think he needs a stronger battery option and different juice(s)

If menthol options at that b and m have been exhausted, try dif shops / juices. Also, I just ordered a five flav sample pack from bulkejuice.com yesterday for. $9 plus $3 to ship. Not sure how their juices are but they're USA made and the cost is very inexpensive.

Keep in mind WHATEVER it takes to get off of analogs is worth it. Happy vaping!

You might look at different heads, rather than a different battery? IMHO that will make a much bigger difference! EVODs can be a little muted in flavor.

Personally, for something simple I like the CE5-R (Has to be the R, which is a bottom-coil) but I'm not sure they're that easy to find.

But if the B+M has inexpensive heads (CE series, VIVI Novas, perhaps the Iclear16) you could get a couple different ones to try.

If you're looking for a VV battery, take a look at the MVP if they have it.

Good luck!

He needs the wamth and throat hit and a strong menthol right...
If I may make a suggestion...
It'll require dripping...but it'll provide more throat hit, warmth, and flavor....
Find a 306 atomizer (it'll screw into the 510 connection of the current battery) and a 306 drip tip...
Go to nhaler online and try sample size bottles of their 24mg newpure and 12mg high voltage super menthale ....mix the 2 of these together... (the combination of these 2 is possibly the most full flavor actual menthol I've ever found...

5 ish drops into the drip tip onto the atomizer, and vape until the vapor production lags....redrip...repeat....

Being in Ohio...if you were near Toledo...I'd offer to meet at the vape shop and let him try bits of my kit...and some different atomizers that the local shops don't carry...

But for some tanks just don't cut it..don't offer the warmth, flavor, and throat hit that really matters..

Nicotine seems to have always affected the flavor in a negative way near 24mg. 12-18 is better to start out with in my opinion, then the atomizer chosen can help compensate by delivering more of that nicotine. That's why people with RDA's frequently don't use nic at very high levels. That's a bit beyond your first setup though.

Hooray for you both! I'd been watching for your report after you got your kits. About hubby, I didn't smoke menthols, but you might try the Extreme Ice juice from Mt. Baker Vapor. I got some because my taste buds are still fried, and I wanted something I could really taste. It has quite a kick to it. You can get it with extra flavor shots, too, and in any mg. strength you want.

I was a long time, 2 pack a day smoker, and had to up my nicotine to 24 mg to feel comfortable. I started with 18 and that just didn't do it.

Good luck to you both, and keep on vaping.:)

Thanks again everyone! We did find some juices yesterday. I'm still going strong with no stinkies. Hubby is doing great but still has one every little bit which is fine, of course. I have found that the thought of having one does pop into my head but I think it's a subconcious/subliminal thing because I happen to be doing something where I would usually smoke...like doing my hair & makeup...so I've been tempted, but have managed to ignore it by vaping instead.

And dripping will never work for hubby....he's truck driver. But thanks!

Have your husband try dripping at home. If it provides a satisfying vape for him he could get a bottom feeder like a VMOD or Reo for his truck. They allow the easy feeding of an atty by just squeezing a bottle.
