Murhpy's Law.How's everyone hanging in?
YUM!!! Why don't I already have that??? I do love me some carrot cake. Hmmm.....I've caught myself thinking that with carrot cake
Ugggh, Mike, I hate everything about this!! Don't you have any rescue places that will foster then until you get your tax return? There must be something!!! I wish I was closer and could help.Murhpy's Law.
My eldest niece's cat (Butterbean) passed from his UTI this morning, both the kids are taking that rough. It's worsened by the fact that we might have to surrender the other two cats if we can't find an affordable place to board them. I pray that tax return gets in so we don't have to. We've got the money to board one of the dogs. Dixie is an emotional support for my sister, so I said board her and I'll find Mulisha a new home. My brother-in-law says wait until Monday so that's up in the air til then. There's a lot of anger and sadness flying around, but we're sticking as close as ever. I'm livid, but hanging with the fuzzbutts is helping.

Oh my gosh, Lannie! That's so scary!! I have only had to go through one storm that was life threatening and that was in December 2007. Winds upward of 120 mph (the last of the weather station wind meters broke at 126 mph so we don't know how high the gusts got after that point) that devastated our entire area. We had 4 HUGE cottonwood trees that stood between our house and our neighbors that were very close to our house and we lost power early on so we had no idea what was going on with those trees. All we could hear was snapping and crashing as trees fell all around us. We were all huddled in the living room with the furniture pushed close together around us because one of those trees would have crushed the top floor for sure and was my boys' room. The next day we were declared a disaster zone and FEMA was called in to assist. I went to go get my oldest son from his dad's house in the next town up and there were trees down everywhere. Thousands of them. One of the cottonwood trees did go down and it landed on our neighbor's house. Fortunately they were both on the opposite side of the house when it happened. If it had fallen our direction, we would have likely been killed since it was only about 20 feet from our house. That storm changed the landscape around here permanently.
I know I can be an ...... when it's warranted, don't know about rude though lol.

Yeah. Try contacting any rescues and see if they have someone that can temporarily foster the babies. Such a sucky situation to be in.Ugggh, Mike, I hate everything about this!! That just breaks my heart.
Thank you. I'll look into it, but everything I've seen is 200 plus a week. I'm holding hope for Monday, I don't want to give up any animals.Ugggh, Mike, I hate everything about this!! Thank you.I remember that storm. We were here by then, but I remember friends and family talking about how bad it was. Wasn't that the one that knocked down the (previously) tallest Doug Fir? It might have been longer ago than that when the tree went down, time seems to warp as I get older.
Well, crap, I forgot about you, too. OK, EXCEPT for you and Nikki! ROFL!
Hmmm... that looks familiar.
I wish we could help you with the animals. That's a sucky situation, and NOBODY should have to give up their furbabies because of a temporary circumstance. I'm so sorry to hear you lost Butterbean, too. Man, that's a bad day. I lost my bestest little buddy last July to congestive heart failure. He'd been acting kind of "down" for a week or so, and then one day he just started choking and gasping and making the most HORRIBLE screaming noises. I'm glad I was here when it happened. I actually did mouth-to-mouth on a cat, but he died in my arms, bless his 3-legged little soul. Rich buried him in the garden, next to the catmint patch where my other bestest buddy is also buried. Oh, there are many, many of my little buddies buried out in the garden. I wish they could live forever...
See the snow in the background? That one has it's winter coat. Somebody washed him and fluffed him up.
I'm so sorry.....Murhpy's Law.

You know how it looks when ya brush your lil doggies hair the wrong way, dats what they did to da poor cow lol
Only Cricket.....sigh...That is a winter picture, and the winter coat helps, but I've seen these pics in the summer, too. The hair's not quite as long in the summer, but they fluff it out the same, and then I think they clip it so it's all the same length. I only see it with young cattle, though, and besides the bulls not being cooperative, I think it's also because the younger animals have longer hair their first year. Once they shed and get their adult coat in, it's usually shorter. That calf in the picture is only about 6 months old, so he still has his "calf coat."
Or maybe they stick their hoof in a light socket, who knows?I'd like to stick Cricket's HORN in a light socket. The neighbor banded her horn (to kill it so it will fall off) when we took her over to visit the bull a week or so ago, and yesterday I noticed the band was gone. Those are sturdy bands, so I don't know what happened, but maybe the cold made it snap or something. So now her horn WON'T fall off after all.
She still has her weapon. Poor Helen...
