I just finished a flashlight mod with parts bought from Madvapes.com. I really like that I can use an 18500 and the triple aaa battery pack it comes with to vape. The aaa's don't have the amperage, but on a long weekend at the Guadalupe river, I know I can find some juice to vape on without having to charge anything.

I looked up the IMR type 18500 battery and it says it is good up to 8 amps! Only 1100 mah but I can deal with that. I was wondering if anyone has tried them and how much difference it makes. Any help would be wonderfull as the IMR's are $11 a piece.

That and I wanted to show off my mod as well.

Thanks,
Sam

Looks like you a are using a 2.4-2.8Ω or so load, about ~1.6A.

This cell can handle that and provide longer vape times than the IMR.

I have noticed that on my 14500 mods the IMR's with lower mah ratings actually last longer at what seems like full power. On my 18500 Li-ion mod I get 1 full day of good hot vaping, day 2 voltage is around 3.9 it still works but has reduced pleasure. I may just buy one to see if it has a greater use of the amperage. I know what it says on paper but real world usage will probably differ.

I do have an Evercool that I love but I would be very upset if in a drunken state dropped it in a river. The flashlight mod works with regular aaa bateries, cheap ($10 plus batteries) and very sturdy. I like 3.7v vaping with the low ohm ce2's, so regulated is not all that necessary for me.

The point is are they really lower?

Here's the true tested mAhs of the common UF 900mAh 14500, and that's at a rather low 0.8A drain.

Capacity = 592mAh

I like normal voltage vaping also, but if I start at 3.8V I want to stay and end there.

So they misrepresent the capacity, or represent it under their testing methods which are better to get a higher mah rating.

I was hoping to find someone that has real world use testing of these specific batteries in a vaping device. I am about to start building a telescope, have plenty of mods as it is and soon to have no spare time to design something else for the river. So I think I am going to stick with it and just spend the $11 plus s/h to check this IMR out. I will edit the OP when I get a round tuit.

Thanks for the info.
