If you were to just go with one 2400mah 18650 in a 3x2x1 box, you should have enough room for one of the 1s-6s meters, an eGo charger inside the box, maybe even an mp3 player

I wonder if they make a protected version?......

I don't think the inside dimensions of the box are 26mm. It might not fit. I used a different box for the 26650. It's a LiMnNi cell but you can also put a protection circuit on it.
It's a bargain though.

Well they do make protected 26650 Li-Ions. Might be interesting to try one.

The IMRs will never come with a protection circuit. Rocket tends to be quite safety conscious and adds them.

Here's a 3" RS box with an IMR26650 in it. Takes a bit of work to prepare the box. It ain't no plug&play thing.
