I will first admit I do NOT have much experience with modding. But, would it be possible to remove the guts of a 510 battery and somehow get a 18650 in there? I want the 18650 battery in a small 510 package so you get much much much more time between charges. Im sure the 18650 is too big to get in there but wouldnt it be possible to find some kind of casing so it stays as close to a 510 size as possible? Am I asking for too much? Am I being cheap?

An 18650 battery is about 5 times the size of a 510 battery. The smallest battery is a 10440 that the lazer from Ikenvape uses. That would be your best bet to still use your 510 stuff on. They're only $35.00 and a few more for batteries and charger.

The 18650 are the big ones.

Ok. I get that it's much bigger. I guess what I'm looking for is a 510 with an 18650. Nothing more nothing less. Basically I want to replace the 510 battery with the smallest possible 18650.

To clarify a bit more, 18650 is the physical size of the battery. 18mm diameter, 65mm long. A 10440 (AAA size) battery is 10mm diameter and 44mm long. There are no batteries that will fit inside a standard 510 battery tube other than the specialized one that is already in there. The laser mod that 5card suggested is as close as you can get for cheap. If you want something even smaller/nicer and are willing to pay for it, the VP1 is the smallest commercial mod (that I know of) that takes a standard size battery (10440).

EDIT: Never mind. If you definitely want an 18650, the VP1 is not for you. :)

The Silver Bullet is probably the smallest commercial 18650 mod, but they're all in the same ballpark. Except the Chuck. That thing is huge.

I wasn't trying to be rude. The 18650 battery is about the largest in size that we use in e-cigs. The Silver Bullit or other mods that use 18650s have been mentioned in previous posts. Here is a link to most of the mods and you can chose for yourself which one:e-Cigarette modifications | e-Savuke.com

While the Chuck is a little bit longer than the Silver Bullet, the SB is quite a bit thicker than the Chuck. I think it kinda evens out.

Actually, the Chuck is much smaller in diameter than the silver bullet! I have both.....The Chuck is slightly taller than the SB, but mUCH thinner....;)

If:
the Chuck is much smaller in diameter than the silver bullet,
and,
the SB is quite a bit thicker than the Chuck,
while at the same time,
the Chuck is slightly taller than the SB,
but,
the Chuck is a little bit longer than the Silver Bullet,
then,
which one is bigger?

and
does it matter?

I just luv this place :)

well...the other route you could go is a highdrain 16340...
Truth be told there are only a handful of batteries that running a 510 atty on where the amp draw of running that atty will not exceed the max drain rating of the battery..

At 3.7V that's any 18650 size...or an AW LiMN high drain 16340...

now cylindrical cell batteries their basic size is right there... 18650... 18 is diameter in mm..65 is length in mm (+ a mm or two for protection) and the 0 stands for cylindrical size..
16340...16mm diameter x 34mm long..
14500...14mm diameter x 50mm long..
but honestly if given a choice I wouldn't go with anything other than a 16340 or an 18650 until AW comes out with their 14500 LiMN high drain (which I hear is in the works)

Drozd,
I would reserve the application of High Drain batteries (low resistance, high C)
to those that are experienced modders. Great battery, but one mistake and things get hot, burn hands, weld switch contacts, etc.

Some newbie is gonna get one and fry his sofa.

(just my POV)

The only reason I didn't mention High drains was I didn't want to confuse the issue but thats a better reason you have. You got to learn to crawl before you walk.

Rocketman...
possibly..but I look at it like this...like I said using a 510 there are only a handful of batteries where the max drain rate of the battery will keep up with the amp draw..
at 3.7V thats any 18650...or the high drain 16340..
at 6V thats the AW 3V LiFePo4 16340 (x2) which has a 10C rating (so actually a higher C rating than the highdrain 3.7V 16340)
and at 7.4V stacked high drain 3.7V 16340...

if we take away the option of the high drains or something with a high C rating that only leaves 18650 batteries at 3.7V... and I don't feel that's the best answer as you know people are gonna stuff whatever they can into the tube to get HV and I think that could be decidedly more dangerous..
