I recently bought an innokin itaste vtr, it's great! I went to charge the battery, put it on for about 4 hours then put it in the vtr to see how it was coming along. The fire button still showed red. After four hours it should at least be up at half way. It's a 2200mah sdx 18650 3.7v battery. It also says NC03 on it.
This is my first external battery device, any helo would be great.

I've never heard of that brand of battery. I did a google search and could only find it on Alibaba, a Chinese reseller known to sell bad batteries which could be either re-wrapped cells harvested from old laptop computers or the rejects of other manufacturers. The battery sounds like it is DOA. Regardless, its the wrong kind of battery to be using in a mod.

Where did you purchase this battery, and what charger are you using?

I recommend you throw that battery away. You need to stay away from ICR Li-ion batteries. Use only IMR chemistry batteries in your VTR. There's a list of 18650 IMR batteries in the first link below. Pay attention to brand and model numbers.

I suggest getting the red AW 18650 IMR 2000 mah battery. It should be fairly common to find at any vape shop or online e-cig vendor. Make certain that it has the silver hologram AW sticker, otherwise you could be buying a counterfeit.

I'm in the UK, there's a site "xyz"
They're the biggest retailer in the country and they're very reputable. I got the VTR from a shop in Glasgow. Fantastic deal, £65 for it when the cheapest I've seen was £70-100

There are more complaints about the customer service of this one company than any other in the UK. They are certainly NOT the biggest either...

Follow UK forums enough and eventually a clear picture emerges.

Sorry, but it's best to get these things straight.

Meanwhile, I will look into NC03 batteries. I suspect I have some of these in the utility room.
