Hi. Put my 18650 in my pocket briefly just while I went downstairs. Had just a single coin and an aspire pegasus in the same pocket which I forgot. Was only in there for a small amount of time. I don't have a dmm but I put the battery back in the nitecore and it's still 4.20v is there no chance I had a short as the battery is fully charged. Is it still safe to use?

What are you using the battery in?

If it's a mech, stop and do more research on basic battery safety, how they work and what causes shorts.
Check out baditude's blog.

The battery seems fine, but the apprehension in your posts tells me you need to do more research to be safe of using a mechancial mod.

Thanx Bad Ninja. I'm 99% sure its fine but... No worries, Probably sig 75 or something regulated. I don't use mechs because of the reasons you said. I am saving for a decent dmm, sony vtc4s and a clone Pegasus mech. I have a machinist who lives next door, said he'll drill the extra 2mm vent holes for me. In the mean time i'll spend time learning and make sure there are no probs. Where do I find all of Baditudes blogs? Thanx again

Cowtown, USA. Where the West begins.
If it had shorted, I guarantee you, you would have noticed. Don't do that again. Try a battery sock instead:
