18650 with a kick

Apparently I started this in the wrong sub forum lol


So I got my MVP v2. I love it. But there's one huge problem for me. There's no replaceable battery. I still want an svd and a mech but I've been reconsidering which to go for first since I learned what a kick actually is.

I want something that'll last me literally forever which is why I want to go with a mech but I also want to be able to slap in a 2900 mah Panasonic battery with a kick and still have telescoping abilities. As well as a locking bottom that won't go off in my pocket. All for a low low price.

My money is extremely tight. To be specific I have absolutely none so I'm not in a rush for an answer here it might be till Christmas or longer till I can afford anything at all but any advice will be taken figured I'd start this thread now so I can get a broad range of opinions.

Also how long can I expect a smoktech kick clone to last?

Finding a 'quality' mod that will take both an 18650 AND a kick is going push you into the custom mod price range. At least that's been my experience after shopping over the past weekend.

The cheapest mass-produced thing I could find: A bolt with an extra extension ring. I've run one of these for a long while now (what ever week the kick first came to Nhaler...that's how old mine is)...it worked well enough but I did find myself needing to rebuild them every few months (buttons/wire/etc.). The biggest issues I have with the bolt is that the 510 connector can get loose and sometimes not make a good ground. I fiddled with it and eventually ruined the whole thing trying to work out a solution. None the less, it 'worked' for over a year...and was 'cheap'. Looks and feels good in the hand.

Another option for running the kick with an 18650 is the Saber Kicked. I decided to try one of these and put in an order just the other day. Total for the build I ordered with an extra battery spacer or two came out to $135.

From there, to run a kick with 18650s you can get Xhaler tubes or a Curve (from Nhaler).

These mods all tricked out get closer to the $200.00...plus tend to have long waiting lists.

I did not have much luck finding anything else in the sub $200 range with the extra length to run a Kick and 18650 together. They probably exist...but the above is what I came up with shopping this past weekend.

It's also possible to find little cans or 'kickit' modules that will screw onto a 510f connection, hold a kick, and have a 510f on top for taking your atty. I'm not sure where to get such a module as an individual, but I'm pretty sure they exist. Found some wholesale links for them.

If you're willing to go with 18490/18500 batteries then you have dozens of sub $50 options out there....quite a few of the all mech ones should last several years and would also give you some room (electronically...the all mech mods can handle intense amperage from IMR batteries) to play with kickless sub-ohm RBA setups. These days you can pick up a Kamry K100 for around $30...and there are quite a few others sub $50 as well.

My understanding, this is based on second hand knowledge, is the nemesis clone from fast tech(or other sources) comes with a kick ring and works with most imr 18650 batteries with a kick. And it is priced at less than $30.
