I have been vaping for around 8 months, and I just got my first mechanical mod. I want to use it to get into sub ohm vaping on my igo W. Nothing crazy .6-.8 ohm. The mod is a K eCig k101 and came in a kit. I believe it is a Chinese reproduction, but I am not sure. I am wondering if anyone else bought this kit, and knows anything about the battery that it comes with. If it is safe? What the output is? The battery is gray and has no marking other than the battery size on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got it from a local shop in Rochester. Everything came in the case, and individually wrapped, two batteries, the mod w/ a drip tip and shield, a carto and the charger

Sub ohms are safest with 18650s

Top brands:
Sony
Panasonic
MNKE

Do not charge them on the dinky charger you got with your kit. There is no built in resistor in it to prevent overcharge and you will ruin your good batteries on it.

Get an i4 charger like this one...

Just to clarify......SOME 18650's are adequate for sub-ohm use......others AREN'T!!
The AW IMR 18650 1600mAH is rated at 24 amp maximum discharge, while the 2000mAH version is rated @ 10 amps..
The 1600 would be able to handle loads down to ~.4 ohms safely...the 2000 would be pushing the envelope with anything below ~.8 to 1.0....!!
CHECK OUT Baditude's battery blogs!!! LOADS of safety info there!!! MUST READING, IMHO!!!
BTW.....the i4/i2 series of Intellichargers has a good reputation....I have the i2 for my AW IMR 18650 1600's.....and find it works very well...
STAY SAFE!!!
Happy (vaping) Trails!

Agree with everyone who said don't use those batteries. You don't know what they are and that is not safe on a mechanical mod at any resistance. I've seen this before and I don't know why these companies do this!

You need to learn a bit more before you start using this setup so you know better how to stay safe. The link in MamaTried's post has a lot of great info in it.
