1st rebuild fail?

my coils aren't turning red, they are crackling and vaporizing but it taste like dirty sock. do the coils need to get red?

i rebuilt the coil and wick, now i have a bigger problem, the nova tank quit hitting. i have continuity in the head but when i screw it on I have no continuity thru the tank. wtf

I feel yer pain.. Just ran out of energy and daylight - 0400 comes early. I nearly had my Thor converted to SS - it worked for a few moments and died.. Serves me right for recycling their nichrome. *sigh* Tomorrow...

If the base of the atty shows continuity, (and reads the ohms), then screw it in and try the base of the tank as well. Messing up the standpipe will be another whole job.
