Hey there....no worries! We all make mistakes, that's how we learn things! A $2.50 learning expense isn't that bad! I bought a whole kit that I didn't like....won't even tell you how much I wasted on THAT! lol! Once you get the hang of tanks, you'll LOVE them!

Glad to hear that it was a simple mistake (not pre-filling the carto) - I'm guessing your tank works perfectly now you are prefilling! I have never had a single issue with my tank when I do this.

If a carto starts to taste burnt, it's either dead or dying. Better to toss it and use a new one. Luckily they are cheap!

I made exactly the same mistake when I first got a carto tank system, so you are not alone

I buy the pre-punched single coils. (They usually have 3 holes) .. On ones that aren't pre-punched I generally only put one hole in mine. Again, never had any issues with one hole. Even with the thickest juices.

Dang it. I will toss that one and try again tonight with another one other one that I have and use the needle to prime the carto this time. Should 3 holes be suffecient to keep the carto wet ot should i punch them bigger? When I get the chance I do tend to hot box them a bit, drag then 20 seconds and drag again. I can do that 5 or 6 times before taking a longer break. I really want the tank to work as well or better than the clearo I am currently using, so I don't have to refill so much I really hate that birnt taste though, so if I get it again I may have to give up on the tanks for awhile and maybe get a vi vi nova and try that.

Prime your tank carto with about 30 drops of juice, fill the tank, then let it sit for 15 minutes....... No burnt taste then. Just putting the carto in the tank without priming it = burnt juice taste. Once you get that, toss the carto, you won't get that taste outta there. 3 holes is definitely enough, it may even be too much. I like the 2 hole cartos from myfreedomsmokes. The one hole are ok, most of the time. 3-hole cartos tend to flood for a lot of people unless you are using 100% VG juice. I learned to stay clear of them.
