Not buying Sigelei anymore, their Tmax is really bad, another one is being recalled right now because if you drop it, it might catch on fire, then someone posted that 4 other models of Sigelei had problems before, it's like they are not testing them before release.

But lots of people use them, they are quite popular and if they have no problems, work quite good.

Sigelei's not the one with failure issues, it's the SmokTech Groove, no relation to Sigelei.

what do you guy's think about this one ??

Sigelei Zmax V3 Telescope Flat Top

I've become a big fan of the Sigelei Zmax build and interface. I like it much more than my Vamo (which is top heavy and falls over a lot and I keep accidentally pushing the power adjust buttons instead of the firing button). It's all personal preference, there are people who passionate love their Vamos, but for me it's behind the Sigelei in my back-up arsenal.

Oh really, well my bad then, it's confusing because Smoktech also produce Vmax and Zmax just liek Sigelei.

It is confusing, especially when it doesn't appear they were copying each other. PBusardo did a detailed comparison and the Sigelei came out far superior to the Smoktech.

Do you know where the best place is to get a "genuine" Sigelei at a fair price? and would this be good for a primary?

So for the questions, trying to nail this down. also looking for a set for the wife, but that is easy since she smokes a quarter of what I do! Probably get an EVOD with twist for her (in a kit)

Hi Western! Here is a link to a good deal on a genuine Sigelei (but be aware that there are several Sigelei models and everyone seems to have their favorite), and I highly recommend ........'s site for links to info and great deals every day. I can't comment on whether it would be good for a primary because I've never owned one, but I LOVE my Ego Twist and Evod setup!

1st post, so not sure what I need to say/ask.

33 Year smoker, last 15 have been strictly the ultra lights. 2-3 PAD (bad 16hr day could reach 4pks). One concern is I work out side (construction type) and not sure what can live up to that lifestyle.

I tried a friends Ego-T, made me hack and cough where cigs really dont. It may have been the flavor, since I'm not usually into that.

After scouring these threads and the internet, I "think", I have an idea of what I want, but unsure if the components will work together. Also, I haven't found the list of recommended vendors here yet?? so I will put the link to the ones, I like. Any and all advice is appriciated and I am aware that it ultimately is an individual thing. I also know that if it "sucks" or is a total PITA, it wont work for me, so please keep "easy" in mind. I am not a "fan boy", so recommend away.

I like the Kanger Protank, reviews overall make it "appear" less problematic.
Batteries that sounds promising:
1. Mega-KGO-VV-1200mAh-3-6v at Hoosiers
2. V2 1100mAh KGO Kit at Hoosiers
3. Ego Twist

Also considered the Halo Triton.

This how new I am. With choice 1 above in combination with the Protank, will/are they be compatible? and is the only thing left I would need is the juice and replacement heads??

Much thanks for helping and "old guy" out

First, check this article and see if it helps: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html.

I like to coughed up a lung my first drag on an e-cig. Problem was, I was used to doing a pretty deep "draw". I figured out, on my own, stumbling around, to "puff" more like a pipe. It was later I found ECF and started to figure out the "inhalation" technique.

See, thing is, tobacco smoke, you get the nicotine (along with tons of other crap) by absorption in the lungs. Which is really fast (some sites say the nicotine hits the brain in as little as ten seconds). So as smokers, we're used to sucking the smoke in to where we can get the nicotine into the blood stream and to the brain.

With "vaping", the absorption is more in the mouth and nasal passages. It's a little bit of an adjustment but you pick it up quickly. I was pretty heavy smoker myself and it wasn't hard to switch. Did forget once in a while and try to inhale deeply and give myself a coughing fit but haven't done that in a while.

One of the things I think is nice is that the "right" inhale for vaping is the one that gives you the most flavor. You kinda slow it down, enjoy the flavors, and it'll start making sense. And you'll get the nicotine so there's that incentive. :)

And whacha mean by "old guy"? He asked, squinting suspiciously.

(You'll find, around the ECF, a ton of people who tell the story as, "smoked for 30 years". There's a lot of younger members, yes. But us "middle age" and up folk are well represented. For that matter, we may be in the majority.)

Myself, I dunno about Halo so I'll defer to others. But most of what you list looks fine to me. Kanger has a good rep here (though I use Visions myself). The kGo is an eGo style battery and the eGo style (not a brand) is compatible with tons of widgets. Which is important as you don't want to get stuck with a "single source" nor trapped in a particular set up. Seems the "eGo" standard is the big one. Tons of vendors sell eGo this and eGo that.

(In general, "eGo" means the dual threading you see at the top of the battery. It just means you can use attachments that are 510 or eGo threaded. 510 being another big standard for threading out there.)

'Bout the only comment I can think of is that number one goes up to 6 volts which is pretty high and you'll want to do more "homework" on using a voltage level like that. Some people like running "hot" but you have to know what you're doing or you'll burn out the little coils in the clearomizers (the tank widgets like the Kanger).

The Twist (which I use) or the Vision Spinner is pretty simple to use and run from 3.2 up to 4.8 volts. Which is pretty "middle of the road". You get settled in, you could always move "up" later if you want.

I think a kit like My Vapor Store has is a decent starter: Spinner/Twist Combo. Does not have to be that one, does not have to be from them, I'm not trying to sell their stuff (and they ain't offered me no commission anyway :) ). But I like how they put together what appears to be a solid "starter" kind of kit. It's the kind of thing I wish I'd started with instead of Blah. I mean Blu. It's the kind of set up I ended up getting to by trail and error.

Mark, thanks for all the info. That link I have gone to several times, I found it through a Google search. I keep backing off since they come without directions. May go ahead and get a set for the wife and see how those go. I cant get anything till I get back in town, but I could have it waiting there.

Thanks again

A lot of this stuff doesn't come with directions but there's tons of info here and on YouTube. And unless you get into the advanced systems, most of it is pretty straightforward. A set up with Twists or Spinners with clearomizers, there's not much to them. Mostly it's "squirt juice in, screw on battery, push button".

I tend to shy from recommending Provaris or other advanced systems for newcomers. It seems to me to be a bit like tossing people who want to learn to swim straight into the deep end of the pool. :)

In my opinion, it's more important to get a basic kit to start and get settled in with the liquids and all. The variety of liquids is confusing enough at first! I mean, it's unreal the number of options available. Like I've been ordering off Mount Baker lately. They have over 200 flavors. And you can pick your base liquid mix (PG/VG ratio). And you can pick your nicotine level. And you can order extra "shots" of flavor. And you can buy plain nicotine liquid and flavorings and mix your own. Which I'm playing with lately.

And Mount Baker is just one vendor. There are many. Vaping has way, way more options and choices than cigarettes ever had. Which is great once you get going but at first can be absolutely overwhelming. I remember my first trip to a vape store around here. Had a book for a menu. 200+ flavors in stock. Holy cow. My eyes glazed over. :)

Mark, thanks!! When I 1st registered here after allot of reading, I was trying to avoid the "multi-step" process of small one to better one. That seems to be what most do and then they say they could have had better results by buying better at the start.

I can see the logic in both routes though. I actually now, (after all the great help from you guy's) can see the point of 2 good set-ups for different types of outings, like work and play kind of thing.

Thanks again!

Hi again Western,

It looks like you're already pretty set on a VV tubular mod and (maybe) some twists/spinners--I had original suggested two box type vaporizers, and looked at the wrong ones...if you're still open to a small box-style what I really meant to suggest was a Reo Mod--realized yesterday that I had made a mistake and just wanted to correct myself in case you were still open to it.

Made out of block aluminum, they're almost indestructible. These are the ones I've seen construction guys using:
