I have a nasty case of shiney-itis, and have been getting some good deals on things in the classifieds. One of the things I got in a lot of stuff recently was a bunch of 6 & 12mg juices, and a Nimbus clone dripper. I messed with it last night for a while, and not having graduated up to learning how to make my own coils, I pulled a coil out of a Protank & wicked it with cotton. Holy chit! major clouds & LOTS of flavor! AND a huge nicotine rush! The drawback was the burned cotton taste I got when the juice burned off. Soooooo, I got to thinking about it today, & decided to mess with it some more. I do a lot of reading on this forum, and read somewhere about what they called putting a cotton "cloud" over the coil on a dripper. Soooo, once again I pulled a couple of coils from a Protank, and this time I left the regular wicks in, but put a "cloud" of cotton over the coils. WOW!!!!!!!!! Now THAT works. Wheeeee!!!! Major nic rush again & huge cloud of vapor. It's a LOT airy-er than I would like, but maybe that's part & parcel of how they work. Anyway, now I know how to get a serious buzz, legally. :) The biggest problem is the having to keep adding juice. Of course if I didn't have that to stop me, I'd probably puff myself into a stupor. Being the old fart that I am, the clouds of vapor isn't what I'm aiming for, but the flavor is great. Now I know how to test out any of the new juices I get with my classifieds buys. I'm sure it won't be something I use a whole lot, but it was cool figuring it out, and if I feel the need for a nic rush, I can get it. Some days are a win-win, and today was one of those.

By cloud over the coil, do you mean like a flavor wick like on the pro-tanks? I just started dripping on my IGO-L and I never seen that done before. Do you just put a puff of cotton on top?

I'm not sure why you would set aside dripping altogether. Maybe if you got something with tight or adjustable air flow, you would be happier with it. Also you don't have to make coil building complicated. Just hold some silica or readywick or similar against a safety pin or similar, or insert the pin inside the wick if it is large enough, wrap some wire around it, and do what you have already done. If you have a regulated mod with ohm checker, just check it there. If not, get a 510 resistance checker. Even simple coils like that in an rda will give a far superior vape to a protank.

Dripping keeps going in and out of popularity with vapers it seem. At Vape Bash this year drippers far outweighed the rebuildable tank (Genesis style) users by quite a bit it seemed to me. I have always favored dripping over any other method because the flavors have always seemed better to me. I use all sizes from Viscious Ant's tiny Cyclone up to larger RBA's like the Paradigm Magma. I also still use 306 atomizers as well as a few 510s like the HH357. If I want to use a tank I will set one up with a Diver or Killer in it.

I am not a cloud chaser btw, most of my coils range from .8 to 1.2 ohms and flavor is more important to me than changing the weather.

You may want to take a look at the IGO line or the Nimbus. They come with pretty small stock airholes which will be a tighter draw that you might like.

$10.00- IGO-W RDA <-- Very quick shipping from a US supplier.
$10.95- IGO-L RDA <-- Also a US supplier
$9.99- Nimbus RDA <-- US Supplier

I recently switched from using a tank system to a Igo-L RDA. Got sick of buying 5 pks of heads and having 2 or 3 not work. Using a RDA I'm building my coils, using cotten wick and getting tons of flavor. granted my coils sometimes look shotty but I'm getting better at it. Cloud chasing not me, after the flavor :)

When I first started vaping I learned everything through the facebook groups. Initially I never wanted to get into dripping or RDA's, but I got talked into by a few of the experienced people and honestly it's been the best decision i've made. No amount of words can describe how much better taste you get from dripping. Compared to dripping all my tanks taste a bit muted now so I may have become spoiled. :D since I became a vaper I have chased the best flavour and with dripping i've found my happy place.

Sent from my iPhone because I'm awesome like that.
