1st time i refilled a carto with juice

so with my first attempt it was succesful. i popped the rubber end from the mouth piece and dripped at a 45 degree angle on the filler avoiding the center hole. it worked very well. i did it with four, but unfortunately one was burnt, had the burnt taste from over vaping so i had to toss it.

is there a way to tell before u fill if a carts dead/burnt...cuz i wasted 20 drops on this one? like can u first drop in 5 and try to vape with that little amount just to check the taste or does it need complete fill to be able to know if its shot?

pretty painless and effective though, glad i gave it a shot, more economical

If you stop as soon as you notice a taste change, you can usually avoid burning Yellow (forgive me, can't remember if you're male or female). Look inside for any discoloration as well...

Best to catch it before it burns,as soon as it lacks flavor or seems dry top it off or refill.Hard to salvage them once you burn them.

Trying to test them with just 5 or 6 drops may not be accurate because in most case if they are burned, they will be burnt above the air tube post. Watch the videos below, in one of them I have a cut-away of a Cartomizer to show exactly where and what a burnt cartomizer looks like. If you draw on dry carto or one with just a little amount of juice, you risk burning the cartomizer trying to test it.

There are a couple of ways to tell if a Carto is burnt if you aren't sure. If you start filling and the air tube quickly (6-7 droplets in) start to fill with juice, it's burnt and juice is running through the pfill/wick material/wick tube and flooding the air tube.

Sometimes you can tell by looking for hot spots on the outside of your Carto, a blemish or discoloration coming through the labeling.

The good thing is it should never be a waste, because you can always remove the juice from the carto.

Now if you fill a carto and it taste burnt or won't fire up, the juice is still good, put a condom on the battery end 1/3 to 1/2 way on the mouth piece end and give a taryn spin. All the juice will come out into the Carto (depending on how much juice you may need to do it twice) then simply pop off the droplet cap and squeeze it back into the bottle or another carto.

I doubt you can overfill..the batting will take what it needs and then it will spill over. I stop as soon as I can see liquid.

snowdargon, i tried to do the taryn spin on the burnt carto but it was sittin there for quite a while so i think it was beyond repair. i only got like 2 drops of juice out. i opened up the polyfill to look and it was definitely burnt and i wanted to see what it was. so i threw the carto out and couldnt get any juice out. also the condom kept on closin. do you have another video of how to reomove juice from a burnt carto if that happens again?

next time im gonna smell it to see if i smeel that burn before i fill

Well....like so many things in life the smell test isn't always 100% accurate. So the condom kept closing...huh...what were you using to spin the Carto? I've been thinking about putting together another video over the weekend, but there really is no other trick for removing all the juice out of a Carto, I would suggest making a lanyard similar to the one in the video. You can also use 1/4 inch I.D. pvc tubing, easily available at any hardware store.

There is one other way which is pretty full proof, if you have an empty juice bottle or a dropper use water instead of juice and see if the carto will 25 drops of water without flooding the air tube. Even the smallest burn hole will allow water to run in the air hole and will alter the taste of your juice.

The other thing is what Keyzy was touching on, if your vaping and you know a Carto is burnt from the taste toss it so it doesn't get mixed in with your other used ones.

good tips. thanks. yes now that i remember there was flooding where u said (the coil middle area). so now i know. and the water idea is pretty good, but i guess id have to dry it out. the smell was definitely singed though. yes please post a video and anything else u might want to mention. thanks snow

Another trick you can do is to blow out from the mouthend into a tissue after refilling. Not too hard..just enough to clear the hole.
You will be a pro in no time!
