Hey guys just got the defender from vapornine. screwed on the pre filled cartomizer that came with it. heard that pop when pressing the button, got a nice hit. i opened up a new cartomizer put it about 15 drops let it sit for an hour or so went to press the button heard no pop but decided to take a drag...YUCK!!! tasted like burned cotton. i put some more drops in let it sit for a little, took another drag the burned taste mostly went away but i am not tasting any flavor (its pina colada). i still heard no pop by the way but did hear like a gurgling noise, so i blew into the mouthpiece end and wiped off the inside threads. can you guys please tell me what i am doing wrong? how many drops should i be putting? i am popping the rubber mouthpiece off, tilting it and pour the eliquid on the walls into the filler (like a beer). should i be hearing a pop? what am i doing wrong? i am scared to use my redbull liquid in another cartomizer because i dont want to mess this one up either. thanks in advance!

**upon further research i have found out that i had bad liquid, and the vendor has taken care of it for me, so in fact i was apprently doing it right to begin with. thanks so much for the help. you guys have a great community here at ECF!

15 is probably too many. Blow on the threaded end & blow out the extra fluid. Sit the carto upside down on a table for a little while and then blow again. Take a paper towel and wipe everything clean. It takes awhile for cartos to saturate all the way. Really easy to overfill. I use 10 drops and let it sit. There is a learning curve to doing it. I got new juice today and overfilled two of the three new cartos myself. Once the extra fluid is out, it should work fine.

some cartos come bad from the factory, I suggest trying out the new e2 cartos, no burned cotton filler EVER!

The E2 R4 is the only carto I like. The fill meterial burns far to easy in all the others I've tried. I also like attys and carts. I do a modified straw mod that works well for me. My carts still hold about 12 drops and lasts much longer than dripping. I have one atty that I've removed the bridge for dripping and I like it the best, but I'm often just too lazy to drip constantly. lol

There's definitely a learning curve. Could very well be the juice, for sure. I use cartos a lot and I fill mine with about 20-22 drops the first time, then about 12 drops each fill thereafter. I like to hear the pop because that tells me it's really heating up and working well, but they don't all pop. And...as they get a little used (several refills) they don't pop anymore. What kind of cartos are they? I use BOGE 510s and I haven't found a bad one yet (have used many, many) and they really work well for me. Does the site you bought them from say anything about how many drops they will hold? Some do. Anyway....you may get twenty different answers in 20 posts. Good luck sifting through it all. lol. We're all just trying to help, and all of our experiences are a little different usually.

I fill KR808D-1 cartos everyday. New ones take around 30 drops. A good way to fill is to fill an empty condom about 3/4 full. Take the mouthpiece cap off so you can see the filler. Slowly push the battery end down into the juice. Let off when you see it coming up to the top of the filler - keep pushing down slowly a little at a time until the entire filler is slushy on top. Put the cap back on, wipe off the outside, then I usually take a Q-Tip and wipe off the battery end good, then let them sit 30 minutes or so and they are ready to vape. You can also drop on top of the filler until it's saturated and starts to drop out of the battery end - blow it out into a paper towel, then wipe the battery threads and let it sit. I don't spin as this just takes more time and is not worth the little extra that I can get into a carto. I just sat for 2 hours tonight and refilled all of mine. I got behind! LOL

There are so many out there and everyone has there own taste, but the most mentioned I have found on the forum are FSUSA, Backwood's Brew, VaporBomb, and TastyVapor. Mrs. T's Bakery has a lot of sweet vapes and Gourmet Vapor let's you create your own or purchase one's that someone else has created. I like FSUSA - check out their supplier thread for their reviews. Hope this helps!
