So I bought a ProVari and have been using the Kanger ProTank II. Also ordered a kayfun Lite Plus clone and am going to begin replacing coils and wicks when that arrives. I stopped by a shop to pick up some kanthal, and the owner said that with the ProVari's built in sensors I may have issues rebuilding. I plan on getting an ohm meter on Monday, and have watched excellent instructional videos on how to work on both tank systems. What should the meter read, and what are the chances this won't work with a ProVari?

It will work with the Provari, you won't be able to sub ohm with it but most don't with a Kayfun anyway. I think he was talking about building on a Genesis where you have to deal with shorts, but other than that the Provari won't have issues, great pv and it's got an ohm meter built in but it never hurts to have an extra.

I usually kept my build in the 1.2-1.5 range with the Provari, you can go higher I just wouldn't recommend going lower.

Yeah as long as you keep your build above 1 Ohm then you should be good. I find that Kayfuns work best in the 1.2-1.8 Ohm range anyway, but YMMV I guess....

I run my Kayfuns on my Provari all day long and it's an excellent vape!! I would not worry about it, I think you'll be just fine!!! :)

i always build on the black box and check it and double check.. and then check it after it is juiced up and ready to go, then i put it on my device and check it before firing. rba/rda 's require a bit to get used to. i am fairly new at it but i still never want to be the guy in the news under "this is why you shouldn't vape" heading (or damage an expensive device). safety first always. best of luck.

I learned to build on a Provari. Heck even has an ohm meter built in, so don't need to buy one right off. I do have an atomizer ohm meter now and like using it, tis more accurate and gives one a stable platform for building the atomizer on.

A Provari will fire as low as .9 ohms, BUT, you'll want to go at least 1.5 ohms, otherwise you'll be butting heads with the 3.5 amp limitation on the Provari. 1.5-1.9 works great on the Provari and you'll be able to hit max watts of 15 with builds of at least 1.5 ohms.

My first rba was the Russian, and used it exclusively on the Provari for months. Worked fraking great.!!

I use the KFL+ on provari, no problem. My coils are usually ~1.5ohms. I built for a couple of months just using the provari's ohm reader, and it's fine. I just recently got one of the little black box meters. It's probably a little more accurate, but I don't think it really makes anything easier. Just another way to check the coils.

If you are rebuilding on a regulated mod with a built-in resistance checker like the Provari, you don't really need a separate ohmmeter or multimeter.

If you are rebuilding for a mechanical mod, even if you have a regulated mod with a built-in resistance checker, it is a good idea to get a standalone ohmmeter or multimeter, since it will be much more accurate, and there are no safety systems on a mech.

Maybe I have a slightly off Provari, but I don't rely totally on the built in ohm meter due to rather inaccurate readings. It's a V1, so that may be the problem, but I always check with a VOM first before putting an RBA on the 'Vari. I also don't like how the 'Vari runs enough juice through the coil to fire it when taking a reading. This is just a personal problem though....lol
