Unfortunately no....... After having the same insurer for probably 15 years I was forced to switch last year and I wasn't as diligent as I thought when choosing my new coverage. I forgot to check that little box for "collision" coverage so as my father would say, I'm ...-out. Comprehensive doesn't mean full coverage as the word would suggest, it covers only things like fire, flood, vandalism, deer, etc., things that are alive. Collision covers inanimate things like ice, guard rails, rollovers, other vehicles, etc.

If you have renters or homeowners insurance, your gear could be covered.

I know this is an old thread but i was googling and found this thread and thought i would just give some input lol. I am a p&c/life and health insured insurance agent in the state of nc. Collision coverage on an automobile is exactly what it sounds like... its going to fix YOUR vehicle to the state it was in before the accident occurred (after you pay whatever your deductible may be). Comprehensive coverage is what i like to describe as "everything other than collision". example, a tree falls on your car, theft/vandalism occurs, or you hit a deer etc. These two coverages are going to cover YOUR CAR. not your belongings (once again this is in the state of NC). Your CONTENTS/PERSONAL BELONGINGS are going to be covered under your homeowners or your renters insurance... for instance in NC up to 10% of your personal belongings are covered outside of the household. So if you were trying to get your vape equipment replaced after a storm, it will most likely be covered under you homeowners or renters ins.

also just want to throw out there, in my allstate office we all call homeowners insurance homo insurance, and we have a discount called "55 and retired" that we like to call 55 and retarted lol. i dont know what the scenario was but thought i would share my knowledge or shed some light!
