I own a Vmax and i seen people put 2 cents in Provari, but don't they have a built in short and reverse battery protection? I was wondering if i need one for my Vmax?
If it doesnt have the protection built in, then it is highly recommended you do since anything can happen at any time regardless of brand. Better safe than sorry right?
vmax has built in protection....tell your friend using the two cent fuse in a provari he wasted 20 bucks.....it's probably the most safety feature rich device on the open market.
Yeah i thought so too i mean i could understand if he put one in mine because it china made and i dont know how well built the protection in that is? Do you recommend i should put one in mine?
All I can tell you is that I would not put one in mine. The final decision however is up to you. There is a lot of information on ECF, you just have to do a bit of reading. The Vmax review might be a good place to start.
Most of the common VV PV's have more built-in protection than a 2 CENT will provide (not even counting the protection built into protected IMR batteries). Still, if it makes you feel safe it won't hurt.
On a mechanical it makes sense as they don't have any built in protection....however it isn't an outright necessity if you are just careful...I do not use or intend to use one on my fully mechanical reo...but I check for shorts and I'm extremely careful about reversing batteries...those arethe two biggest things to watch for.
